I do, but we were not wealthy enough, so we got the Thom McAnn specials.

I do remember seeing a pic of me in elementary school, basketball team photo, wearing a pair of white Nike high tops.

Now in middle school, I had the original pair of Jordans, The Magic Johnson Converse and at some point the blue and white nike pumps. My everyday wear were either K Swiss or Reebok white hightops.

Was a golf caddie for 5 years when I was younger - always wore the Adidas version of shox.

Now I run with Brooks trail Cascadias 95% of the time.

At that age I was probably wearing buffalo sandals or barefoot. I was a hippy teenager.

When I was young back in the 60's, my Mom would buy me the Bo-BO sneakers you would find in a big basket at the Sipermarket. I bet yoy they were 99cents at the time.

Chuck Taylors when I got older..

Most of the time I had cheap Nike knock offs but one year I got Kangaroos with the zipper pocket. I thought they were so cool at the time.

we didn't have a lot of money growing up so I never had a pair of name brand sneakers in school. Actually even after I got out of school and had my own money I've only owned two pairs of name brand sneakers, one pair of Adidas and a pair of Nikes that I bouht a couple of years ago for running on the treadmill. I tried running in my hunting boots and it didn't work so well for my back.

WHen I was 13 I have the Reebok Shaq Attaq 3's... that was probably the last year I cared about having "cool" shoes.  After that it was airwalks and vans.  Before then it was like your social status was tied directly to what shoes you wore... looking back on that as an adult the whole thing seems insane, but that's middle school for ya.

I had these Shaq pumps. My dad was exceedingly cheap, but understood that shoes were important. He took me shopping for hours for basketball shoes when I was in 5th grade. He almost caved for a pair of the previous year's Jordans, at least he let me try them on. Finally we found a pair of Shaq Pumps and several pairs of Air Force Ones on clearance. The Forces would have been better shoes, but I wanted those pumps. Dad went for them even though they were way too big. I remember wearing them up through 8th grade. My dad still gets a good laugh out of those shoes.

Chuck Taylors. Bradlee's would have big bins of Chucks. They weren't in pairs, just big bins of loose sneakers. We'd dig through looking for two the same size and color. They were poor kid shoes back then, I think $3.00/pair (1970's).

New Balance, Nike high tops, and work boots through the 80's. After 1986 it was LPC's every day.

Sambas and Asics Tigers.

Also I had a pair the Kill Bill editions. Just without the giant FUCK YOU on the sole.

   Converse, maybe?

All I really remember was getting them from the grocery store. It kept us busy for awhile trying to find our size in that big basket.

Nikes and that's pronounced nike as in rhymes with bike. They were white leather and you either got a red swoosh or a blue one and a bottle of white shoe paint to fix the scratches.

LOL, We wore the crappy sneakers in the bargain bin at the grocery store. We called them "BoBos". Thing is, they lasted forever. I didn't buy my first pair of Nikes until I was in High School.
