I wake up to a mouse fart. Sleeping alone is the best.

Melatonin helps.
What really sucks is I haven't seen the dogs in 3 weeks.

I sleep better with anyone in the room. Just another bed and anyone will do. Like my cave woman brain thinks they'll wake up and help fight sabertooths. Like maybe before I even wake up.

Eta: ideally, I'd go to sleep while others in the room stay awake. That's the best

Like being asked a question while snoring and being able to give an immediate and coherent answer, being aware of what's going on in the room while dreaming and falling asleep better when wearing trousers and foot gear.

Zero problems sleeping alone. Prefer to be with her but work and life often dictate otherwise.

I used to have hunting buddies who couldn't stay off their phones and often left our hunts days early due to being unable to cope with the separation. They are no longer invited to anything anymore. I can't believe how weak people are today.

When my wife goes out of town the dog and I get the house just the way we like it and then the last 24 hours we have to clean up or we will be sleeping in the doghouse outside.

Been seeing a woman for a few months now

After the 1st time she spent the night here I thought her perfume lingered in my bed.
Last week she told me she sprayed her perfume all over my pillow and sheets

I sleep like a baby when the wife is out of town on buisness, sometimes she snores and has the jimmy legs going on so its nice to sleep alone once in a while.

Can do it no problem.  Like it better when she is there of course, but we have slept apart often enough that we are ok with it.  However, when I am gone, she sleeps on the couch alot. If she is the one gone, Ill fall asleep wherever, couch or bed.

Yeah it's weird to sleep in a bed without her.

I have to do it occasionally, but it always takes longer to fall asleep/feels weird.

I don't sleep well when my hubby is gone... Like tonight. . So I just pile all my favorite guns in bed with me and my dog and read, and read, and read. Did I mention that I read? I might fall asleep by 3 or 4, if I'm lucky.

I hate this.

Codependency issues. One thing to prefer having your wife sleeping with you.
Another thing to have severe anxiety issues with her absence. Freud wrote it has something to do with a boy and his mother.

My wife is the center of my world.  I can sleep without her, but I miss her terribly when I do.  Only exception is if I get too tired and she puts me down for a nap.  At 60, you need a nap every so often.

I have no problem with it but the wife absolutely hates it when I go out of town for work.  She says that she doesn't sleep the whole time.  But she does tend to exaggerate a bit.

It use to... Until she started using it like a weapon to punish me when she was mad. Now I sleep better without her.

She also likes to bring the kids to sleep in our room. Its the way she was raised so she thinks its normal (understandably as it is to her).

Frustrating but she's starting to realize it isn't working as she gets little sleep as a result. Waiting to see if she figures it out.

We sleep in seperate rooms due to his snoring and my nighttime crazy. I sleepwalk, talk in my sleep, and have attacked him on a few occasions. If one of us is out of town, the other does not sleep as soundly but we manage.

I prefer sleeping alone. I generally don't like having someone in my bed with me. Good thing I'm still single.

One of the only bright spots about travelling a lot for work is I typically have a nice queen or king sized bed, in a quiet room, all to myself.  I sleep pretty well on those trips jet lag not withstanding.  Most of the hotels I'm in are 4 or 5 star, so have nice soft pillows, high quality sheets, and usually good down comforters.

After we had kids, my wife retained most of the baby weight (like a lot of your wives did I'm sure) and has turned into not just a bed hog (always stole the covers, laid diagonally across the bed, etc.) but a bed hog that can't regulate her body temperature, and who snores louder than I do.

I have a hard time sleeping in the same bed now.  Either we have 87 blankets on the bed because she's cold, or we have the windows open and the fan on high because she's hot.  Once she finally falls asleep there is about a 5 minute grace period before the chainsaw snoring starts up.   If I'm not asleep or passed out by then, I head to the spare bed room as she snores loud enough to wake the dead.

Well, I can pretty much sleep under any conditions, but it is more difficult if the wife is gone.  I have found that putting my rifle in the spot where she usually sleeps works pretty damn well in those situations.

Me too.

However, I have been single my whole life, so I don't know if I could even sleep in the same bed as someone else (well...the few times I did...we weren't sleeping )

We've been married for 38 years this June.

I don't like to go to bed by myself, but I can fall asleep if I'm sleepy.  Sometimes I just sleep in my recliner, or fall asleep there and get up later to go to bed.
