Global warming my ass. When I was a kid we used to burn leaves like nobody's business. Pansy ass tree-huggers. Good for the Russians giving the finger to the climate change loons.

The Reno news was telling us that the smoke and haze was coming from Siberia the first part of this week. It was thick enough here that it blotted out the lower parts of the mountains on the other side of the valley 7 or 8 miles away.

I can  almost  see Russia from my back yard.

Slight overcast, but doesn't  smell like smoke.

Wonder if EPA will treat east coast liberal states the same as they have Texas with PM from Mexico. Seems unlikely.

Burning straw, leaves, or wood is essentially carbon neutral. They absorbed carbon while growing and released it during the same year in the case of leaves and straw.

I was wondering where the smoke was coming from. I just though people were burning brush.

I was blaming it on Kalifornia burning, as usual.

A lot of nut jobs claim cows are the largest source of carbon emissions. They don't get this.

Yep. Not old school Russian but old school agriculture.  They burn the fields here in Idaho also.  Huge clouds of smoke that get the environmentals in an uproar.  It does smell up your house and burn your eyes.  Tradition, every year it is explained why and the benefits, on the local news.

They burn fields in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, etc. etc. etc. etc.

OP should get to states that have...water...and green things...once in a while. And the media need to get out of their big cities occasionally.
