I need a second pistol and already have a XDM compact 9, so I was thinking about getting the competition model as it would share mags. But as I held a HK VP9 the other day and I am in love with it. Might just have to get both eventually.

TRR8 Aug A3 Garand CZ (not 100 percent sure of model yet) Pretty much in that order too. For anyone who has a Garand on their short list who hasn't got one from the CMP yet, I'd definitely make that your next purchase. Just googled that CMP and M1 Garand. Found an article. Now before readers become excited about buying a legitimate .30-06 M1 Garand for a great price (Service Grade $525 in person or $625 mail order), the CMP has certain requirements that must be reached before a civilian can purchase one. A purchaser must be a member of a CMP affiliated club (local gun clubs, some Boy Scouts of America chapters count), must show proof of U.S. citizenship and age, proof of marksmanship activity (past competitions, instructor status, CCW etc…) and be eligible to purchase a firearm (no criminal record, honorable discharge). To be eligible, one does not have to be a resident from the state that the CMP store is located in. This is an interesting feature about the CMP because they are a chartered organization by Congress and thus FFL exempt. Typical FFL purchase checks are not used in the purchase process and the rifle can be shipped directly to your home. Not to an FFL where you have to sign for it but overnight shipping to your place of residence. - See more at: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/07/31/buying-m1-garand-cmp/#sthash.ef6dezfA.dpuf Is the highlighted part true? |

CHL is not required in my state for conceal or open carry (I would for training but money), I don't compete (money again), CMP affiliated club... well maybe my local range. I got my 627 5-inch the previous fall for $850. The price quickly went up after that rule change.
