I always thought Spacehog was a bunch of older guys, because the lead singer looked like he was 40 in 1995.  Dude was 23.

So when I was 16 I ditched class and went and watched Howard Jones in concert at the state fair here in AZ. I will say that the man put on an awesome show! Also the smithereens are far from a one hit wonder. Some people may not have heard any of their other stuff but I have seen them in concert and like Mark Goodman said when he introduced them, "they knocked my fucking socks off!" And level 42, well they were a one hit wonder of course but I really liked that song.

Howard Jones had a number of hits here in the US, and worldwide. He had ten singles on the US charts, new Song, Like to get to know you well, Everlasting Love, What is Love, No one is to Blame, etc., and both of his first two albums were top 10.

He is touring today, as is Level 42, ,or most of it. The most important part of level 42 of course is the without peer in his style, bassist / singer Mark King. the only one in that style that comes close or is his equal is Kajagoogoo bassist Nick Beggs.

Bullshit, she had like 5 hits. Of course, they all sounded alike, but she was not a one hit wonder. (Owns the Samantha Fox Greatest Hits CD)

Then I found out they had One LP that had a Base 2 Hits:

I've been digging out Year by Year Top 100 hits.  It's amazing how many of them have only one or two hits before going back into obscurity.

Wiki says this group had two hits.

Talk show host, Steve Allen, noticing the stranger and weirder band names, made gag for a show.  The machine picked one random verb and one random adjective.  The resulting combination became the next supergroup.  It looks like he wasn't that far off.

Marillion had several hits in Europe, but I think this was their only song that made the Hot 100 in the U.S.

This song was a panty dropper in 1979.

Desperate times they were.

Continuing with our Teutonic theme, we have this song, which was originally recorded by Falco and flopped, so then it was covered by After The Fire and it flopped again, so then Laura Branigan covered it and so the After The Fire version became their only U.S. hit.

If that made sense to you, you have a future as a record producer because it makes sense to nobody else on the planet.

Of course, Falco did manage a U.S. hit with this song, which also makes no sense.

Some of them weren't all that bad.  You Light Up My Life for example.  When it came out you couldn't hear it enough times.  Now, the only way many people would listen to it is if they were given a choice between It and listen to Obungler speak.

Here's a goodie:
