Never tried it. Like Cutty? Dewers? Or a single malt Glenlevit? Johnny walker?

You like this? If this is good Scotch, I shall stick to bourbon. Evan Williams is a good whiskey, and a good Arfcommer. Quoted:

Sometimes it's the second glass that grabs you. Yes, I like it. You should try some Ardbergh next. |

Highland Park 12 is the perfect single malt to represent many of the characteristics that the different regions of Scotland has to offer.
If you disliked it enough to want to ruin it with Coke, I'd say that scotch isn't your thing. |

You'll just love Laphroaig then. It taste like what I imagine it's like to lick an old basement floor. Liquid dirt.

That's a helpful chart. The one I did like is called Monkey Shoulder. Any idea what quadrant that would fall in?

It's not the 80s anymore.... mixing coke and Scotch is bad for you, or so the DEA and ad council say.

Highland. Park 12 is my go to. OP, it's pretty damn good.
Maybe try an Appletini? |

I've only ever had one Scotch too foul to drink...Loch Dhu Black. Take a well-used ash tray, dribble a little ethanol in it and swish it around. Drink it. That's Loch Dhu Black. This being Arfcom, someone will be along shortly to tell me that it's actually really good. |

OP should definitely switch to Laphroaig. I ordered some the other night- young waitress looked at me like 'the fuck you just say?'

OK, haven't had any Lagavulin for a long time, guess I should pour some.
(Talisker 18 is my favorite, though.) |

Tobermoray, that stuff is like paint thinner. I went on their distillery tour. It was the only place where no one finished the free sample.

I didn't like Highland Park either, but I did enjoy the fuck out of some Balvenie Doublewood.

My favorite Scotch was always Oban 14 year-old.
As it is, I haven't really drunk anything stronger than beer or wine in a good 15 years. |

I really, really like the Balvenie. I currently have 10 of their different offerings. However, Peated Cask is way too peated. It's like drinking a Christmas Tree.
