It isn't so bad
Definitely makes gear changes 87 times better though
[/ quote]

Live with a QC for just one season and you will fucking hate 9" axles. And there is not one good reason for any of these sanctioning bodies to not allow the QC on any class of car that currently is allowed a 9". It's modular so repairs are easier (can just change a tube or bell in 30 minutes if you're fucking off and not rushing it) and gear sets are a fraction of the price.

*sigh*

Off my soapbox now. Sorry...

You not kidding about the QC, I ran a QC on a dirt Late model for 3 years.  Now I'm racing a superstock for someone and just put those heavy ass gears in the rear end tonight .  Our first race is April 17th.

Subscribing to see how you do OP.

Let me know if you have any problems with the oil pan my company makes them.
I'm having trouble with the oil pan

I wanted to add to a previous post:

I'm doing this for a couple of reasons.
Reason one, I got into racing 30 years a go so it's kind of an anniversary thing. I can't say I've been racing that long though.

Reason two, my mom was my biggest fan so it's kind of a "memorial" to her.
She would always be in the stands cheering for me and even getting her right arm bent like she was helping me through the corners.

So, that's why I decided to toss away perfectly good money.

I'm going to have fun though

Hope it was not too bad. I may or may not have hit the wall on practice day and spun the motor backwards, thus spinning a rod bearing. So yours cannot be that bad.

Makes me miss my days of Sprint Car racing, balls to the wall.

Don't miss the politics however; when it stops being fun time to let it go.  Hopefully it stays fun for you a good while.

What's considered newer equipment and what's the best upgrade to improve your racing?

Im fighting some steering issues on the car.

I had them last year and thought I got rid of it, but obviously didnt.

Either the steering box is going bad or the power steering pump is taking a shit.

My problem is Im not letting the "drift" in the corner. Im trying to fight it so to speak.

Im also having to man handle the wheel so that tells me something is bad. Its not an easy turn of the steering wheel.

Video is still uploading

SORRY

They were ice cold and good. That track looked pretty tacky and had a cushion to run on also. So now the real question how bad was the wall contact?

Wrinkled the rear quarter panel and broke a brace.

Moved the bumper over some too

From the vid it looks like your car is setup to tight or has a bad push from the center to off the corner. Not being able to see the steering wheel makes all this a guess though. You said the track is usually dry slick at feature time though, they had rain today free track prep. VRM watching this vid makes me want to get my car out of the barn and go race.

It seemed tight in the first run so I made a couple of small changes and it seemed to react to them

in the second run.

I need to get the steering issue figured out first before I do too much though.

I did all my racing on pavement.
Road course racing was the source of my paychecks, and drag racing consumed them

Question: Do the chassis on those things come out of some production car?
