What would you do if it came to pass that your government, at the either the local, state, or federal level, or some combination of the three, truly became agents of unbearable oppression of the common citizen, through usurpation of constutionally-guaranteed preexisting human rights, for example denying the right to free speech, free exercise of religion, the right to keep and bear arms, or the right to not be compelled to testify against oneself.
Instead, the government decides to compel you to act in ways wholly contrary to your common sense and contrary to what you believe is in your best interests. What would you do? Run away? Peacefully non-comply? Frag everyone in 100 meters? Would you list openly your reasons for such a harsh response? What sorts of actions might trigger such a response on your part? |

I dunno.
I've stated in the past, however, that Japanese Americans who were rounded up and put into camps would have been within their rights to use force to resist the soldiers who came to take them away during WW2. But that's an easy one. Pretty much everyone would agree that "Vee are here to take you on a little involuntary camping trip" is an obvious fo time scenario. |

And I'm in before the lock!
Just for the record, I will fully cooperate with any and all authority figures who may request my assistance. I'm a good prole. |

The answer to your question is the political process.
Right now the political process does work. And, as long as it does work, we are obligated to seek change at the ballot box. But, if the political process was ever shut down… |

Baby steps insures that when that time comes you won't have a means TO defend yourself. I believe that line has been crossed anyway and people have decided to be fat and complacent rather than do anything about it.

IMO everyone has a different level of tolerance. The people with the lowest level of tolerance who choose to do something violent/illegal about the issue will get squashed. If this turns into a witchhunt for others like them it may turn into a self fulfilling prophecy.

Nice job, OP. I think someone stroked out just thinking about it. So, would that be FPSO? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I have never seen nor have I ever voted for a politician that has run on a campaign platform that said they would raise the national debt, but yet we are in excess of 18 trillion in debt. I have never seen nor have I ever voted for a politician that ran on a campaign platform that said they would spy on its citizens without a warrant, but yet they voted in laws that do this very same thing, and they did it despite the fact that they swore an oath to uphold the constitution. No Sir, the system no longer works and has not worked for a long time. |

Thomas Jefferson had this figured out. Read his letters along with the anti federalist papers. That pretty much sums up exactly what is going on today. Two centuries later, and we are seeing exactly what was predicted then.

When? It's time. Problem is you'll get a handful of folks willing to fight and they'll be labeled "right wing extremists".
How? Lots of good ideas here. |

I gotta believe someone with some horse power would gather some of his like minded men and take out the problem before the (if any) enforcers got very far.

Here's how you know if it's time to fo.
Put on your full battle kit, ruck up, grab your rifle and head outside to form up with the neighbors before getting it on. If you're the only one wandering around in full gear it is not fo time. |

Remember, good people do nothing in the circumstances you describe. And they certainly never discuss it.
