Same thing I did at 1-800flowers, which was handling customer orders and complaints.

Only difference is I have to go work in a call center and commute(via bus) like everyone else.

Working at a call center is going to be different than working at home (and not necessarily a good kind of different).

As an employer, the best advice I can give you is to keep your head down and get work done. When working with other people, there is always the potential for DRAMA. There is nothing an employer hates more than drama. Be the guy who gets shit done and ignore the distractions and the drama.

This isn't my first time working with others.  When I worked with others before, there was drama. I just avoided it.  Especially when it's drama involving late-teenagers, early 20 somethings.

>DEEJ, I swear, even before I clicked on this topic, I just knew it was you, I  knew it, just a feeling, and, I was right!
You are doing great, a new job, that's cool, all your hard work and perseverance just keeps paying off.
You're an Inspiration, I mean that, you just always give 100% all the time.
Take Care Brother.
You Deserve It.

Congrats.  Now go make yourself a valuable member of their team.  I may need to borrow some good 'new job vibes' soon if things don't improve for me.    All our good bosses left for better pay and things are kinda getting stale as a result.

I know it's not easy out there but if the work environment sucks keep searching and get the heck out of there unless you are making mega bucks.  Life is too short.

My current work environment(working for a contractor that contracted to different companies) sucked.  So I'm glad to get out of there.

Plus I'll be making $11/hour instead of $8.50(currently) or $9.58(800flowers.)

Need to buy a gun to celebrate. Put a flower in the muzzle for good measure.

Yes and no.

Commuting via public transportation will be something to get used to, but I knew a day would come where I'd have to find work outside of home.

Just have your cell phone ready and remember that the preferred viewing mode for Worldstarhiphop is vertical so you miss most of the action.

How long is the commute? I thought you mentioned 30 miles in another thread?

That's going to be an adventure in and of itself.

I'm waiting to hear back from our transportation authority. I'll be using a door-to-door service.  What happens is you tell them when you need to be there, and they'll tell you when you need to  be ready.

Very good! I had a neighbor two houses down who used that to get back and forth from UT.  Seemed like he departed and arrived home at pretty much the same time every day.

Nothing really to report. Usually I'm the only person on the bus in the mornings and in the cab.  The drivers have some interesting stories though. A few people have flipped out on buses and the taxis.
