Similar thing happened at the CIA gate in McLean a bunch of years ago. Mir Aimal Kansi fled to Pakistan after killing two CIA employees, but was eventually captured, tried & executed.

I've been through that gate ... that's a stupid move. There are bollards in place that will stop a tractor trailer and lots (and lots) of guys with MP5's and M-4's milling around looking for something to do.

Odds are someone on Fort Meade got into the wrong lane and was force to go down the NSA entrance. Once there and not authorized, it becomes a hassle just to be able to get turned around and you end up blocking all the other traffic trying to actually get onto the compound.
Person just Fo'd and said fuck it and made his own u-turn. Been known to happen.... |

One suspect is dead and two others are injured after an altercation at the gates of the NSA at Fort Meade.
Reports say the suspects were disguised as women while trying to make entry. At some point during the altercation with guards, shots were fired. I had a Soldier who thought his CAC card would get him through the gate. He honestly felt that because he was in the Army he could get through. It was not a good day.
