Ok, if this was true, why didn't the captors use this to their advantage and have him spill the beans to make it a black eye propaganda wise on the US?
Surely, if he had complaints about his supervisors, I am sure the captors interrogated him enough to get a reason from him why he would abandon his post. This is like grasping for straws. I could se the captors saying " yes, this American soldier left because he has information on wrongful misconduct. He will now tell the world what atrocities the Americans are doing here!" Yeah, didn't happen

At this point everything coming from our government is an blatent lie. It's almost as if everyone in the Executive branch didn't even get a GED. It's expected though you can't openly shame the king and take down a Muslim at the same time. Does anyone know how he lived for 5 years and then just walked back to base?
