Soooooooooooo That's why there was a train stopped on the track this morning on my way to work!
ORANGE PARK, Fla. - The Clay County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a disabled tractor-trailer managed to get out before it was hit by a CSX freight train at a Doctors Lake intersection about 8 a.m. Friday. The driver called 911 to say his rig was stuck on the tracks and managed to get out before the collision and was not injured. Witnesses report the big rig was split in half, with the cab on one side of the train and the trailer -- carrying a McLaren MP4-12C sports car valued at about $240,000 -- on the other side of the tracks. Um... I'm not sure where they got that price tag but it's way, way too low.

I wonder if there's audio of the truck driver calling his boss? "Yeah boss.....I might be a bit late dropping off that $250K car I'm carrying....." |

I was looking at it on google street view and it's a steep hill up to the tracks. And iirc there are two trailers they pull. Maybe he got into a weird angle and got stuck? |

Big rig (if equipped like the enclosed car haulers I see most of the time) was probably worth as much or more then the car FWIW.
Somebody had a really bad day. |
