I like the sound of an unmanned turret with a separate armored crew capsule. Here come the drone tanks in about ten more years. You are correct, first "optionally manned" and then fully autonomous tanks are definitely coming. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't already been done. I mean if you can make a drone aircraft, a drone tank ought to be relatively easy by comparison. A drone tank doesn't have to fly after all. |

Pretty sure for a thousand bucks you can buy one of these today for export out of russia. They will probably throw in a crate of ak's with the deal.

Secret confession: I love these threads. |

Russia is trying desperately to claw its way out of the 20th century, it can't even topple a small country like Ukraine covertly without getting into trouble! The only thing keeping Russia relevant on the world stage today is its nuclear capability and the fact that it knows our dear leader has no testicles.
In a conventional war against a super power or a coalition of 1st world countries Russia on its own would be destroyed. |

Quoted: Quoted: The Russian Government apparently is backing a plan to connect a highway that would lead through Russia to Europe and the USA (Alaska). Would mean that you could actually drive to Russia or anywhere in Europe. Apparently Putin has some hand picked successor to take over for him who is a Railroad Tycoon in Russia who is pushing the highway plan. I'm sure that will happen...never. The cost would be in the trillions, and there are some serious technical issues building a bridge across the Bering Strait. |

The heavy hitters will be dead from Wild Weasel runs. AGM-88 is faaaaast, and we have a handful of different fast attack craft that can sling 2-4 of them at ADA radar. Although, AGM-88 is probably outdated with a probable 40% success rate or less against current Russian ADA. Gotta be truthful, don't wanna scare them. |

So when do we get to see the video of the crew being fried to crispy critters when all that high quality Russian automation shits the bed and burns the entire vehicle down to the road wheels?
That should be awesome. |

Cool looking tank. Somebody in the world has to step up to justify our massive defense spending and military industrial complex. We could be using b-17's and p-51's against most of our enemies these days. I still don't know why they mothballed our 70 year old battleships, nobody could touch them and one of those 16" guns off the coast of Mogadishu in 93 woulda helped.

Does the turret act as an ejector seat when the tank is hit by an Abrams round?
I seem to recall that the older models did that. |
