I have been looking at ordering a blood the last couple of weeks. Who did you order from?
|
|
i dont like snakes but pythons are kind of cool.
why do they call them blood? |
|
I though I had read that the Blood Pythons have a bad temperament ?
|
|
I can't understand why anyone in their right mind would want a snake in their house. Those things are evil.

Cool snakes, held a 6 foot female once that I thought about buying but that's about it. A 6 foot blood is about as thick bodied as a 10-12 foot Burmese. I hear they have extremely fast strike speed too, and are often suggested as a nonvenomous "teaining snake" for Gaboon vipers.

He's gorgeous - don't let the haters deter you. 90% of GD can't tell the difference between a garter and a rattlesnake, they're both scary and should be killed with fire.
Blood python temperments can vary just like any other critter, some are chill, others will barely tolerate being handled. Hell a few of my adult ball pythons are super defensive and will tag me if I move too quickly. I don't have any blood pythons, but I do have ball pythons (yeah pet rocks LOL), 1.2 savu pythons, and 2.3 reticulated pythons, as well as BRB's, BCI's, and assorted colubrids. Are you on either BP.net or redtailboa.com? |

Theyre aggressive. I like the sumatran black blood pythons myself. Currently I have 2 pucalpa red tail boas.

Did you form 1 that fucker? He's one SBR'd crazy ass lookin' snake!

All fun and games until they choke you out, or your dog, cat or kid.

That's a good looking snake. I don't think I've seen one of those before, fascinating proportions.

That would make a pretty pair of boots! View Quote can't say I haven't considered trying it when one of my big balls dies of old age Quoted:

You're supposed to cook your food before posting a dinner pic.

I had one of those back in the 90s, it was imported from Malaysia. It was a real asshole at first but settled down enough that it wouldn't bite within a month. It never did like handling though. I had it for about 10 years before giving it to someone else.

We hunt down and kill pythons for fun down here in S. Florida.

I like my cornsnake, maybe someday I'll get a ball python. Mice are easier to store in the freezer than rats though.

Savu pythons don't get large enough to require feeders bigger than an adult mouse, and they're not stupid picky like ball pythons. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

POS would make a good target-- snakes ain't ''pets'', they are snakes.

The finickiness of BP's was a big reason I didn't get one in the first place. The biggest problem with Savus is the same one boas and many colubrids have, making sure they don't eat themselves to death. Fatty liver disease can take a decade off of a snake's lifespan. |

Partly training to keep from getting bit-blood pythons have a similar strike range to body length ratio, similar unpredictability, and similar strike speed-they're fast. IIRC they also have similar care requirements though, and are easier to sell than Gaboons if you decide they're too much work. |

View Quote It's head (and body slightly) would turn dark like that when it got a shitty attitude about things, whether it was just stress or it was pissed-off. Otherwise it was gold. Even when mine was clearly upset it refused to bite, never tried to after the first month I had it. |
