So at tier VII. Pensacola or Myoko? M256 Pensacola is the worst US cruiser, while the Myoko hasn't changed since it was a tier 8 ship. Get good at aiming the Pensacola will pin and citiadel any cruiser it is likely to face. If you plan to play high tier American cruisers you should get used to using guns no IJN CL or CA will beat you in a gun fight at equal tiers |

The US 8in guns have less penetration, lower velocity, and less fire chance than IJN 8in guns. It has terribly thin armor, making it very easy for opponents to score citadels - 8in guns can get citadels at any angle, at any range against it. No cruiser +/- 1 tier should lose 1v1 against a Pensacola given similarly skilled captains (lucky shots aside). The Pensacola does have good AA, making it a decent escort/support ship. |

A St Louis with good captain skills is nothing to sneeze at , you've got good guns and armor (better when angled) You can put a world of hurt on nearly anything within 2 tiers of you when you play smart. M256 View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Played a little more, though not like some of you guys. Had a good quick fight where a BB walked into a spread of Torps from my T2 DD, and I'm really enjoying the South Carolina and St. Louis; but those are the hottest ships I've got. M256 I agree. The St. Louis is an awesome ship for it's class. Really enjoyed my time in it. |

I just got my Cleveland but when I get the Pensacola I am planning on sticking right wi t h Little Pony in his IJN BB. We always are platooned and in the same area to start but from there we may split up depending on what needs done, but from what I have heard of the Pensacola I think I will be like a remora to him for that ship lol. |

I am guessing that the stats for the Bismarck are the base stats and will come with upgrades as it will be in the tech tree. Also some of you should get on and get in teamspeak so I have people to play with, I get lonely. |

One of the biggest drags is that it's tier 7, so it takes a lot of XP to get through. On my list of worst-in-class-for-faction ships, though, it's second best. |

Haven't played much lately but have tried to get in a few x1.5's to work on some grinds. Purchased the minekaze and free xp'd into the Aoba.
Haven't been able to get above 50% WR for the night in the last week or so however. Some teams completely lack the will to win. Decided to quit after we lost a game on hotspot with 3 ships remaining (all BB's) and they had 1 (Tier 7 IJN DD) who just drove around and capped all the remaining caps to win. I died trying to kill him. He some how got a lucky citadel it and took a big chuck of HP off and had me to < 1000hp. Even with my ROF I lost that gun fight. 177 hits, 2 kills, and a couple of base captures down the tube. Oh well...is what it is. |

View Quote Yeah, we had a few games like that tonight. Was our most frustrating night since we started playing. We both were in stock Tier 6 ships to boot. But we had several times where we and a few other ships we were with would capture the area we would go initially and kill whatever was around, look up and see the rest of the team dead or being tards :/ Just not the best night of gaming this past evening. We both got our first upgrade though so that should help tonight. |

Dammit, I just love when a division is just fucking around and blunders it's way to victory. A couple things to remember about the 'Cola when you get to her (somehow managing ~66% w/r with one currently) 1. Never, ever, EVER trade full broadsides with anything larger than a DD. Angle your ship to mitigate chances of a citadel hit. If you show broadside, it should be while transitioning from a frontal beam angle to a trailing beam angle while enemy is reloading. Keep the angle as sharp as you can while keeping all turrets on target. 2. AP becomes much more valuable with the 8" guns, especially against other CLs/CAs. Also if you run into a BB that's 2+ tiers below you. Within 10km, I usually get 2-3 citadel hits per salvo on these type ships, including T9 CAs (haven't run into many T10's to test this on but I imagine same effect as there's not a huge armor belt difference) 3. Pick at least one other CA/BB to follow around (sounds like you got that covered). Cola's are targeted quite frequently because enemy BBs A: like seeing gigantic crushing salvos hit and B: 1-2 BB salvos is pretty much all a Cola can survive. So BBs are bad, and Clevelands are bad but anything else should be manageable in a 1v1 type scenario. Of course, a good driver can really cause issues. 4. Upgrade the hull as soon as you can. Can't explain it but my survivability/performance increased dramatically when I did. |

What was fun about this game is that we had it in the bag early, then completely collapsed until it was me and our remaining carrier vs. 4 ships. I was on cap and came back and sunk 3 and he got the 4th. 112k torpedo damage! |
