I vote ban. Everyone knows the finale of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is the GOAT. These are correct. If you doubt me, click here |

I've seen it. Great movie. Great gunfight. But for revenge endings give me Leone. And all that firepower in the gauntlet, that's a lot of lead getting thrown around.

The Wild Bunch View Quote The finale scene in THE WILD BUNCH takes the crown. The character development throughout the film acts as a entertainment force multiplier too. Leading up to the signature clash on camera, you knew this was the only way it could end. Released in 1969 and almost receiving an "X" rating for violence, it is today considered a cinematic masterpiece. THE WILD BUNCH SHOOTOUT |

Gross Pointe blank is an awesome movie, but that is not the greatest gun fight ever.

Open Range and Heat get my vote. Though imo Heat has a shit-tastic ending. Now,when i watch it i shut it off pretty much after the bank/street shootout

I always thought the shoot-out scene at the end of The Shootist had a lot of class.

There aren't any decent uploads on youtube anymore, but I still think the best TV/movie gunfight is in Band of Brothers - the assault on Brecourt Manor.

Open Range...meh...the flying through the air due to shotgun blasts and 20 shot six gun took away from it.
HEAT is always a classic and pretty realistic for Hollywood. The shootout/raid at the end of "Proof of Life" is on the top of the list for me. |

The sound is what makes the Heat scene the best in my opinion.

In order for it to be the greatest gunfight scene someone would have to have been depicted actually being killed.

That is one of the greatest movies ever made.
The thought of MInnie Driver in the bathtub with a gun?......OH Yeah. |

Heat is my favorite. Built an XM177E2 type sbr because of that movie.
Two others which I also think are pretty good are the opening sequence in 3000 Miles to Graceland and the rescue scene near the end in Proof of Life. |
