Live on some acreage north of Columbus, GA.  Neighborhood dogs patrol my property.  I love dogs, when they come around, I pet them and roll them around.  Used to have deer on a stream on my property.  Do I need to pick one or the other?  I wouldn't mind some venison in the freezer.

That depends if they chase deer or not.

The dogs will run off the deer. No two ways around that.

If you have coyotes too, you should focus on that problem first. but you might want to talk to the owner if they are a problem.

Tell the owners to keep their dogs on their property. If they don't consult with the local animal control officials. If that doesn't work it's your call.

I had some that wouldn't stay away until I took off about an inch of their tails with my .22.

If there's bedding or food on the property, the deer will not be run off by dogs. Coyote didn't displace ours, our dogs didn't displace ours, shooting them doesn't displace them.

They can be chased off, but they'll come right the fuck back if there's something there they want.

On my uncles land this year, I shot an 8 pointer that came in with 9 does. The neighbors lab was running around 100 yards away barking his ass off the hole day. Deer didn't care for shit that he was over there.

Breed the two and get both?

I like the dogs.  But if a deer might drop dead of a heart attack while at my place....  I'll try some corn.  Lots of good bedding here as well as water.  Dogs just pass through, doing dog stuff.

My german sheoherd used to chase deer on my land.
Then some does put a few knots on his head.
After that he'd bark from the porch.

My dad has an electronic fence. The deer have figured out exactly where it ends and will stand 2 feet from it.

don't shoot them and post pics on facebook...

Unless a dog is prone to chase..or there's a pack of dogs..they'll usually ignore the deer for the most part, once they've had one
kick them in the face...BUT a roaming pack of 1/2 doz dogs may well chase until dead..

The deer can't stay away from my house. Every freaking night they're feeding within 60 yards of my front door. I think the clover is richer because of the dogs. They'll stare each other down, then go about their business. If I had a spaniel suit bow hunting would be a breeze.

My nightly herd of deer begs to differ.

The dogs will chase them back across the road, they just keep trying though.

If you want deer - google food plots for deer.

I have coyotes and dogs on my ranch.  Deer don't seem to care.  Had a young doe eating grass in my backyard this morning while my Bassett Hound made more noise than a tornado in a trailer park.  Deer didn't flinch until I opened the back door.

Lived near a place that trained seeing-eye dogs, and used to see deer browsing a few yards away from the kennel full of barking German Shepherds.
