I am 61 years old and have a systolic in the 120's and diastolic generally in the 80's.
Unlike every other male in my family I keep my weight down and exercise as much as possible but I do have extremely high cholesterol which also runs in the family and am pre- diabetic as of a few years back. On occasions when my blood pressure gets too high it is always stress related. I am finishing a 3 month self induced trial of a over the counter supliment that for SOME lowers blood sugar levels and cholesterol. It is a combination of cinnamon, biotin and chromium all in one chewable tablet twice a day. Don't know my current cholesterol levels since taking the combo as insurance only covers the test twice a year but my home blood sugar level tests are scary good. Do your best to eat right and exercise. Booze and smoking maybe not...... |

Mine is 143/90. I'm overweight but working on losing it and being more active so not super concerned yet. If I lose the weight and it's still high - well, I'll worry about that then. (this was at a supermarket test station, haven't been to the Dr for a bit now. It was newer so I'm hoping it was reasonably accurate). Poll in a sec. View Quote Lose weight but see a Dr and get on blood pressure meds in the meantime. I was stage 1 and even checked in the stage 2 range a couple times. Now taking 5 MG Amlodipine daily and check normal. It's dangerous to just live with the high levels. By all means get on meds then work on weight loss. |

Went to the Doctors today, 138/90. Pain and weight upped it a little.

my average has been higher in the past.... but that was with a now ex wife with an attitude..... now that I am clear of that situation... my last BP check at the doctor for a diving induced injury ran 124/82, which is the best i have had in over 15 years! Just amazing how stress is such a high BP inducer....

Just used one of those machines you usually see in Wally World of pharmacies here at work. First measurement in... Years.
133/66 pulse at 66. Try it again tomorrow and see what it says. |

62 years old and not overweight and just got home in the last hour from Houston's shitty traffic and consumed two beers.
138/87 and my pulse rate was 68. Been on BP meds for ten years. Here's one for you. Worked pretty hard most of the day Saturday and the result was my BP all day Sunday was averaging less than 116/70. Somewhat proof that breaking a good sweat and being physical does help your BP. |

Mine was 83/50 the other day. In the hospital I went for dehydration. One day of IV fluids and all is well

Mine usually runs around 110/65. I'm 61 years old,am 5'9",and weigh 205lbs.

Last check, mine was 128/80.
Now, if you really wanna fuck with the people in your clinic, eat a big ole chunk of the saltiest pickled bologna you can find about an hour before your visit, then follow that up with a huge dip of snuff in each cheek. |

I have to get pretty worked up to get mine to go over 120. I turn 60 this year.

[#28]
It is normal now, thanks to that pill I started taking last year. Before that it would get as high as 175/115... Modern medicine is amazing, stays around 120/75 now.

Havent been getting much exercise this winter and have started correcting that. Doc says I need to lose 10 pounds too... |

Usually in the normal range, 120ish over 70ish. Measuring once is kind of useless, especially at a machine that you were walking around before using. Omron makes a decent unit to take your own, and it's easy to track day to day. Definitely data worth having.

Hawthorne berry extract brought me down from Stage 1 for 20 years to normal.
No amount of exercise or weight loss mattered. Did it as a last ditch before the flight docs put me on BP meds. I never have believed shit like that actually worked. It did. |

120-138 / 62-77. Depends on the stress of the day. I take pb meds to keep it there. High bp runs in my fathers side.

Prehypertension on some current meds. Doc tells me not to worry, if the two I'm taking only get me barely into prehypertension I'm doing fine. Lucky for me because I'm overweight. Good cholesterol, sodium, etc. Go figure.
ETA: Get a checkup. The electronic machines ALWAYS read a good bit high for me, manual method always gives me lower numbers. |

Like 130-something/80 something at my last check up. My employer had a company health screening last year and I was at 150-something/90-something, and high blood pressure runs in my family. Doesn't help that I like bad foods and cold beer.
So I'm on medications now, drinking more water and less beer and soda, and trying to lose some weight. |

117/68 or something like that recently. I know both were under.
