So I got my six year old an ESEE Izula as he usually takes mine on fishing trips. I've been trying to figure out how to do the handle wrap. Red is his favorite color, the pic is under CFL lighting so it looks odd.

Here i my experiment from last night.

Or should I simplify it like mine:

.

Or more so and just do black.

But I can't find a picture of someone who did it.

Red blade, black wrap.. The red cord is just going to get dull and brown over time.

Very true especially since he likes to find mud. Plus cutting up fish.

Does give me/him the option to re wrap though

Nice job, just keep a steady supply of cord on hand.

lol clean a few fish with it and you will be re- wrapping it anyway.. The funk works its way inside the cord and is really hard to wash out. I stopped using mine to clean fish and gut game, to much work to scrub the cord clean, plus I almost lost it once.. Now nothing but cheap Mora knives for me when it comes to wild game..

I usually gut fish with a stainless blade. My Manix 2 in S110v has been getting the call mostly these days.

Here's the two on a trip a while ago

I know luckily his Bday and my work week are coming up so I'll run out of time to fuss over it

The only way to get over Sebenza lust is to get one, I gave in and love it

red is a good color, it will be easier to hide the blood stains when he nicks himself

He's my son. It'll happen. Always a lesson to be learned. Fixed blades are a little more forgiving

Thanks! I actually took it off a few months ago to make some G10 scales for it, but never got around to it. I need to re wrap it.

Can't wait for the Folder this year.
