You should have crossed farther north and driven through Caribou.  I would have stuck one in a snow bank for you.  You were 63 miles too far south.

I did see about 15 accidents between New Haven and Manhattan on the 18..apparently folks don't know how to drive in slippery roads?

On the what?

You took 95 (highway) or 15 (the Merritt parkway, 2 lane limited access) or rt1 (stoplight heaven)

What is "the 18"? We don't have a highway or parkway called the "18".

Ice is slippery yo. The reason why when the roads get snow covered or ice covered there are so many accidents is due to the fact that many do not have dedicated snow tires on their cars and or use studded tires. Most will have all weather tires which are a compromise. Couple that with the fact that most people have zero experience when it comes to driving on ice covered roads your bound to have a car or three spin out and or crash into each other.

And as to your complaint about not enough bolt face logos. There around. Typically however you'll see more cars with the CCDL logo or the F-Dan Malloy logo than the bolt faced logo.

I hope you didn't take 95 all the way - once you get to MA it is usually a lot quicker to take 495 to 90 to 84 to 91 then either back on to 95 or CT-15 depending on traffic.

Yep. The Hutch/Merritt/Wilbur Cross seems like a magnet for accidents daily. Its two lanes. Hilly and some strong curves in places. People drive like complete assholes on it usually at excessive speeds way over the speed limit. Throw in any sort of precip, be it rain, sleet or snow and there will be accidents. I often drive RT15 and there are many times where I'll have the cruise control set for 65 and I'll never pass a car, all the cars are passing me. Speed limit on that parkway is 55. Before they started replacing the onramps that had stop signs there were rear enders constantly on those onramps. Then there is the occasional derp of a big rig wandering onto the parkway and getting jammed under an overpass. Been stuck behind that more than a few times. The amount of traffic on both the parkways and I-95 (New Haven down to NYC) have exceeded the design of the roads. Congested roads, precip, and bad/aggressive/speeding drivers are never a good mix.

Yep, the northern suburban parkways. I was surprised to see truck and MTA coach buses striking pkwy overpasses up there. Thought it was always an L.I. thing.
