It's hilarious how the best argument the haters can come up with for why the entire series sucked is that 1 episode out of 62 was bad. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Probably a stupid question but I've never seen Breaking Bad... is that a requisite for watching this show? It's slloooowwwww either way. If you think this show is slloooowwwww don't waste your time with Breaking Bad. Holy crap! I really don't know what all he BB hype is about. The fly episode??? really?!? ETA: Saul made BB almost worth it but I'm sure the creators will f it up like they did with Breaking Bad One episode out of six seasons that I got bored with. It's hilarious how the best argument the haters can come up with for why the entire series sucked is that 1 episode out of 62 was bad. We didn't pay no mind to BB because it wasn't on our cable line up. A friend gave us season 1 on DVD and we watched it on a snowy stay at home Sunday. We have yet to watch one episode on regular TV, however we have since seen the complete series......the biggest letdown was waiting for the last of the series to be released but it was well worth the wait. Maybe in a couple years we will start watching the complete set all over again. I think we have watched the final season 3 times now. LOL |

So far so good
ETA - Am I the only one that was watching trying to figure out what crazy Breaking Bad-esque symbolism they snuck in? |

Pretty slow and uneventful. Kinda like BB was in the beginning.

Saul is having the same luck as Walt, right from the get-go. Desperation followed by knee jerk success and blind luck. |

Even some of the camera angles used, POV shots, etc. were similar to BB. Let's see, we've met Mike, Huell, and Tuco along with Jimmy who will be called Saul. It was a slow start but a good build up. Already there's a million different ways the plot can go with the rival lawyer's wife, the two skateboarders, ole Tuco, Chuck's mental illness, and well, hopefully this series keeps you guessing as much as BB. |

Maybe, but even if it's not, do yourself a favor and watch 'Breaking Bad.' I've watched a lot of tv and BB is the best show I've ever seen and the last season was EASILY the best season I've ever seen. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Edit - this is what long-form television is about. The ability to have lengthy expository moments that you'd never get to do in other storytelling forms. I watched to the end and enjoyed it for the most part... there's just a lot of options for enjoyable television these days and I'm not sure I have time for it. |

Just watched it, it pretty good. I was spoiled watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. I don't watch a lot of TV and the damn commercial breaks are killing me. It breaks up the flow.
Did anyone notice the key fob he put in the mailbox? Could that have been "the" fob/remote that Walter used at the end of BB? |

The show had much more depth than I anticipated. Though, I guess I should have expected that, given the creators of the show.
Odd, but the one thing that didn't sit right with me was the "Better Call Saul" logo for the show. Maybe it's pulled directly from a billboard in BrBa; I just don't recall. Don't know why it bothers me. Just does. |

It's off to a great start. So far, I'm 100% in for the long haul.
It's nice seeing the birth of a criminal lawyer. |

I noticed before he got in his car, they showed a white catty parked beside him. Wasn't that the same style catty he had in BB? I noticed several little bits like that. Another was the nail/massage place.

Unless the court bailiff had major skull cone-head reduction surgery, I don't think that was Huell.

It's called character development and I think they're doing a very good job.
I hope we'll see more of Mike in the second episode tonight. |
