Damn you people; I'm looking for reasons NOT to buy one CWOCK FTW. The VP9 creates more problems than it solves compared to a G19. It's larger, it's more expensive, the sights still need to be replaced anyhow, mags are the same capacity, yet physically larger for some reason, the mags are also a lot more expensive, Magpul's not making mags for the VP9, you lose holster options... But you get a better trigger and a cushy grip. Eh. |

If it came to accuracy alone, I'd take a bull barrel 9mm 1911 over any of the striker guns. It's impossible to shoot badly.
If it comes down to striker fired or nothing, I'd take the VP9 over the G19, but if I was limited to a double stack non-1911, I'd get a DA/SA CZ--which is still a better gun. |

Time to pony up and buy a real gun. See, this is why I can't stay out of these threads, and why the label of "glock fanboy" is meaningless. Like the majority of other glock shooters, I don't care what pistol you shoot. Everyone has their own personal preference. I happen to like glocks. I shoot them in competition, and I shoot them well. USPSA, IDPA, GSSF, you name it. I also shoot 1911's and revolvers, and I do well with them too. It's just a matter of putting in the time to develop your skill with whatever you want to master. The problem is most people can't just say that they don't like glocks. They have to imply that somehow there is some kind of flaw inherent in the glock design that prevents them from being shot well. Because it couldn't possible be THEM. This is what drives me (and most people who will be labeled "fanboys") batshit. Take this thread for example. An admitted HK enthusiast, after 25 years, cannot even apply the absolute basic fundamentals in marksmanship with the world's most prolific pistol. Now, if he'd said "My Bill Drills cluster low and left at top speed with glocks" I'd have no problem with that. Or "the angle of the grip causes my sights to track way to the right, adding .05 to my splits" I'd have no problem with that either. Because then he would obviously be someone who has put in the time to have a strong understanding of pistolcraft, and simply preferred something else. But the complaint here is akin to saying "My AR shoots consistently to the left out of the box. My other rifle shot OK without having to do a thing to it, so there must be something wrong with this design. Fuck AR15's!" This is pretty basic stuff here. And then, they have the sheer gall to imply that their naivete qualifies them to spew qualified opinions, and that buying some kind of gimmick or overpriced solution is a mark of their superiority as a shooter, instead of the embarrassing crutch that it is. Now THEY are somehow right, and thousands upon thousands of shooters better than them are wrong. "Time to pony up and buy a real gun." So after 25 years, the OP finds a pistol that suits his undeveloped idiosyncrasies to a T. Good for him. We should all be so lucky. If he'd bothered to buy a few books on dry fire and spend a few hours a week in his basement, he might have gotten there 24 years and six months earlier. |

Mine is absolutely automatic for me. The accuracy is effortless. The ergonomics are perfect. I love the mag release. And the gun is just plain sexy.
Did I mention the trigger is awesome!? I used to shoot a USP9 a lot, got tired of the mediocre SA trigger, went to Glocks. Now the only 9mm I own is a VP9. |

It's nice. But the Walther PPQ M2 is moar betterer. View Quote I played with both and bought the Walther PPQ. The Walther trigger is unquestionably better and the grip was also better in my hands. That said, HK has seemingly produced a fine weapon with their newest 9mm and I do not rule out buying one in the future. |

Had a chance to run 1000 rounds through one between 3 shooters when it first came out they are really nice that being said it didn't do anything my glock 19 couldn't do and at the time I think my buddy spent 630 on it

GLocks claims to be "perfect". They inherently opened themselves up for criticism. Get over it. Shooting is more than 2 fundamentals. View Quote Again, I don't really give a shit about what you think about glocks, or glocks in general. The only reason I shoot them is because I can win enough $$$ at GSSF matches to pay for my shooting hobby. The "glock" that I'm defending here is really just the idea when you decide to build YOUR skill, it won't matter what the fuck you use. Well, that and the fact that if I couldn't hit what I was aiming at with ANY pistol, especially one I'd dumped hundred of dollars of accessories in, at LOL 25 feet, I'd be too embarrassed to post about it on the internet, let alone feel qualified to give my opinion on anything shooting related. But hey, keep chasing that rainbow, tiger. Hopefully they'll make some more stuff you can buy to be a better shooter. |

You must have girly hands if you cant shoot your glocks right. Thats ok those guns were made for men, perhaps an lcp will fit you much better.

Came to post about the PPQ....The VP9 is nice to shoot, no doubt, but the PPQ was firstest with the bestest.... At least with all the press about the VP9 and subsequent comments comparing it to the PPQ, people might try the Walther and finally realize how great the PPQ is. |

It's a 9mm...
You women need to learn how to handle a real weapon, like a 45 ACP. Big holes, gentlemen, not little ones. |

I like glock a lot. No doubt it is a simpler gun. I can completely detail strip a glock and put it back together with my eyes closed (really I have done it, just because). And I have never detail stripped my vp9 (because fuck that). But I do think the H&K vp9 is a better gun. And worth the additinal money. For me at least.

How do you make a bulky, 4" bl, 15 round pistol? You derive it from a DA/SA pistol full of toaster parts. I expected more from HK.
The VP9 shoots slightly better than a G19, but I'm much more likely to carry a compact pistol than a full size pistol. |

I have 3 Glocks, but only because they are cheap, OK quality, and have inexpensive threaded barrels available for them. Otherwise I wouldn't be interested in them at all. |

I bought one Friday and shot it for the first time today. I love it.
I spent about an hour yesterday swapping out side panels and back straps just to get a feel for them. Best striker fired trigger I've pulled including the Apex Glocks. I shoot it a little to the right so a rear sight adjustment is in order but zero complaints. ETA: Seems a lot of Glock guys are taking this whole VP9 thing pretty hard |

There is an old saying in the target/competition community that every gun picks its own ammo (in terms of most accurate and consistent performance).
With that assumption, one Glock will do better with one particular brand or load, while another Glock (same model, same shooter) will do better with a different brand or load. It would stand to reason, then, that every shooter picks his own gun. One person gets best results with a Glock while another does best with an HK, while yet another person does best with a S&W or a Walther. It's a fun -- but expensive -- journey to find the perfect gun. |

CWOCK FTW. Eh. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

A lot of guns I pick up, play with, and think "Meh, whatever", but this one is nagging at the back of my mind. If When I get one, it'll definitely get put through the Hell that is the FEMA swamp, but even my Kimber runs like a Swiss watch out there; I seem to have very good handgun karma |

I guess I don't get it. I shot my buddies VP9 and just didn't love it. Nice pistol for sure, but doesn't shoot any better than my Glocks. I also prefer the reset on the Glock. I've owned an HK and shot many of them, just never been a fan of the other triggers including the LEM. I thought this was going to be the perfect pistol when I first held it. Not a gun I'm going to run out and buy any time soon. In fact my buddy already made arrangements to sell his.

If you shoot consistently a certain way with a certain gun, why not change the sights to match POA to POI? I'm curious. How exactly did the glock ergos affect your sight picture and trigger pull? Multi-year IDPA and USPSA shooter here. I shoot high and to the left with glocks. ( I've owned or own a 17 / 19 / 21 / 22 / 23 / 34 - So I've given them their fair shot.) I shoot just a tiny bit high and to the left with M&P's. (Shoot an M&P 9 pro series right now in IDPA / USPA - own a regular 9, compact 9, 45 full size and shield.) So far, with my VP9 - I shoot about dead on. If anything, just a little high. My ammo for the past 2 years have been bayou bullet 130gr 9mm. Or bayou 200gr SWC 45. If you shoot consistently a certain way with a certain gun, why not change the sights to match POA to POI? They don't point well for people who learned on just about anything else. Try closing your eyes, and bring the gun up to a target & look at your sight picture. For people who learned on guns with a more traditional grip angle, they point high. If you are constantly trying to force yourself to unlearn what was your natural point while you're shooting, you probably won't shoot well. I have to pay close attention when I shoot Glocks. This is no more a problem then learning DA/SA, flipping off a manual safety or whatever the particular idiosyncrasies of any gun are. Fixed with minimal levels of effort. Sure, but why bother when there are better pistols available with a proper grip angle? |

<snip> See, this is why I can't stay out of these threads, and why the label of "glock fanboy" is meaningless. Came to post about the PPQ....The VP9 is nice to shoot, no doubt, but the PPQ was firstest with the bestest.... It's nice. But the Walther PPQ M2 is moar betterer. I played with both and bought the Walther PPQ. The Walther trigger is unquestionably better and the grip was also better in my hands. That said, HK has seemingly produced a fine weapon with their newest 9mm and I do not rule out buying one in the future. Phooey. New gun = no holsters like all new guns Compare it to a G17. Not a 19. I never load my Goock mags more than 15 anyways. Dam plastic mags warp at full capacity. I can't tell you how sometimes a glock mag on a hot day will not fall freely after heat expands it. Like Glock sights are good? They suck balls and almost all who have glocks replace them. Your argument really sucks and really no,argument fan boy. I paid $38 for a glock mag. I can get VP mags or P30 mags for about 42$. Not much difference and it's a real metal mag. Maybe that's why they cost more. Glocks suck. Sorry. I feel like for many, we had lived with shit, fooled by Gaston and the "perfection" stubborn bullshit they kept telling us as consumers. Face it. Glocks lack big time for a modern weapon. Time to pony up and buy a real gun. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

<snip>that wasnt your 'natural' point of aim...it was learned. its a muscle memory thing and for people new to guns (or those who dont have years behind a 1911) Glocks point very naturally because they arent fighting that muscle memory View Quote This. Although, I shot 1911s for years before getting a Glock. I can shoot a 1911, a Glock, a VP9, a CZ-75, Smith and Wesson revolver, or a target Benelli or Pardini (the kind where the magazine is in front of the grip and you have to turn your wrist forward for the grip) without a problem. I've never understood the whole issue with grip angles. |
