So I keep a running list of quotes, speeches, ect. Its been helpful when I have to write something or for some historical input when Im in a debate with someone. I recently heard this one, but for the love of me I have no idea where it came from. I googled it and the closest I got was someone commenting on a facebook page, with no citation or acknowledgement of where it came from originally. Its obviously in relation to the US military, but I havent seen anything on it anywhere. Can anyone fill me in on where this came from?
This is the life we chose. Not for glamour. Nor praise. Nor pity or favourable status. But for honour. For personal satisfaction. For country or for family. But none have joined to be celebrities. We are the true America, and for our sacrifice, we will get no outstanding praise. Merely a pat on the back, a "Thank You" from a stranger, and an insight that no one can take from us. And this is all we should ask for
