Yes. Says the guy with the scene from Brokeback Mountain in his avatar. It's amazing how people on both sides of the issue can remain so rational... It's ok to disagree. When you do, it also helps to explain why. Also, I never saw the movie, but had no idea Washington was in it. Was he praying in the movie too? Edit to add, I aprechiate the feedback from our mil members who actually have experience with seeing these these concerns first hand and providing them. It makes me wonder if European armies, or historic ones, deal with the same issues, have a solution, or just circumcise all the soldiers when they give them shots and hair cuts. This is not a sarcastic question, I just have to assume it's not a U.S. only problem. I thought I read somewhere that when the soldiers were out in the field they would essentially clean with their own urine, but not sur how feasible that is, or if itworked. |

Quoted: It's cleaner View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Cleaner than what? Are you going to force your son to shave his pubs too "because it is cleaner"? A person's body is as clean as they keep it. Circumcision also reduces sensitivity and increases pain and discomfort. How is that a worthwhile trade off? The only way it is cleaner is if someone is lazy and has bad hygiene. Why not just teach your son to wash himself? From a published medical study. CONCLUSIONS: This study confirms the importance of the foreskin for penile sensitivity, overall sexual satisfaction, and penile functioning. Furthermore, this study shows that a higher percentage of circumcised men experience discomfort or pain and unusual sensations as compared with the uncircumcised population. Before circumcision without medical indication, adult men, and parents considering circumcision of their sons, should be informed of the importance of the foreskin in male sexuality. |

He'll be a lot happier later in life, I assure you. 1) This is true. Typically humans don't remember anything until about age 3. I can administer Versed to someone and do nearly anything I want and they won't remember it. Is someone not remembering justification for doing something painful and unnecessary to someone? 2) This is a crock of shit. Circumcision isn't more hygienic. 3) So? If another guy is taking time to stare it his genitals, it's their problem. If a women is complaining that it looks funny, she can go find another dick to ride. 4) Yeah, that's a realistic reason... Supposedly men start out in gay port first before getting to women. I haven't a clue if that's true or not but yeah, I'm not making any decisions for my kids on a possible future in porn. 5) Do what? Leave him as God (or nature) made him? Leave the decision up to him? Leave him the same as his dad? Talk about a bullshit guilt trip... Look, my dad was cut. It's what they did in the 50s. When it came time for me to be born, my mother and he decided to leave that decision up to me. I have never had an STD or UTI. That's probably because I actually washed myself on a regular basis and don't stick it in strange/used a damn condom. I never in my life had anyone mock me for not being cut but, then again I wasn't raised as a Nancy. Out of the women I have slept with (about 10) only one has even mentioned that I wasn't cut. Later I found out she slept with me to make my friend jealous so zero fuck given about her opinion (I believe when she brought it up my response was along the lines of, 'So? You still liked it'). As a healthcare practitioner, I have come across many elderly men with UTIs and all of them were cut. At their point in life it was more due not being able to bathe themselves and CNAs not giving a shit about it. The AAP does not recommended universal circumcision. Look OP, it's your decision. Just know that the hygiene bit is bullshit and women will still sleep with him either way. |

Yeah, I definitely sympathize. However, by not getting him cut, you are still choosing for him. I get that he was born with it, but we're also born with a lot of stuff we don't need that ends up being problematic later on in life. Definitely respect your decision though, and to me it's just never been a huge deal either way. |

I'm cut; my boy is uncut. We considered all medical and social factors and decided to leave him as God created him. We talked to many of our family and friends and were quite surprised at how many guys are actually uncut.
My wife talked to several of her female friends; some thought it was weird but not a deal breaker and some preferred it. Turns out I have several friends who are uncut and none of them have ever had a problem getting in whatever hole they were striving for. Plain and simple, women prefer a clean dick. I am not affiliated with any religion that requires it. I WILL concede the increased risk of female to male HIV transmission, but I will teach my boy to have standards and values and not sleep around. None of my uncut friends or relatives have ever had an "issue" with their foreskin; we directly asked and were given frank answers. One of my nephews had a problem with his circumcision and went through a LOT of pain before it was resolved. There is also a tiny percentage of circumcisions that result in significant and permanent loss of pleasurable sensation. Finally, I remember high school locker room; there were way more wisecracks about a guy with a little pecker than a turtleneck, though I will also concede there were turtleneck jokes. I don't worry for my boy though, he's tough and good looking. We decided to leave his whole and I do not regret it one bit. |
