Too many to name in NHL, NASCAR, etc but the only semi well-known person that knows me by name would be Ray Farmer, the Browns GM and former Philly Eagle.
Had a business meeting and lunch with Rick Flair once so I'll mention that one. WOOOO. |

He's actually a pretty down to earth guy. ETA: Forgot that I actually sat down and shared a Dominos pizza with Rick Perry at 1am about 2 years ago. (post below reminded me) |

Governor Rick Perry in his office.
My opinion is that he is genuinely an all around awesome human being. Myself and others with families were in attendance. He acted as if he had all the time in the world for us as well as taking time to speak with our wives/girlfriends and children. A red letter day in my book. |

My Dad raced ARDC, AAA, USAC and NASCAR after WWII thru the 1950s. The family's first official outing of the racing season was the Langhorne 100. Name about any of the drivers that raced the Indy 500 in the 1960s. Foyt, Ruby, Ward, Jones, Sachs, and all. Also USAC races at Trenton Speedway. I've got a boat load of autographs and programs from the heyday of open wheel racing.

Robin Williams. When I was younger I was eating dinner with my family in Tahoe at this restaurant on the lake. He came up to the table (randomly) and talked to us. I remember him being the funniest, most humble person I have ever met.

So many country artists.
Several politicos when I worked in DC. Most famous would be Bill Murry. He crashed my wife's uncle's wedding reception.

Danny Joe Brown of Molly Hatchet. He hung out at my house a few times. The band would come in and eat when they passed through town.

I've met a lot, the only one I felt a connection with was Kim Basinger. It was in 2001, and we had an interesting conversation about LA Confidential. She's as hot in real life as she was in that movie.
ETA: had beers with Alex Lifeson of Rush. Awesome dude. Total A Lister. |

George W Bush, Clinton (Clinton has this magical ability to make you like him when you meet him in person, I actually walked away feeling bad for hating him). The Rock, nice guy, very intense. I was at a hotel a while back and Neil Young and Willie Nelson were the only two other people in the bar, ended up drinking with them. Neil didn't say a lot but Willie was friendly. I was in a Starbucks in Midtown Manhattan right behind Anthony Weiner literally 2 days before the sexting campaign blew up.
Billy Murray photobombed our family photo in front of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree back in '93. So that was probably the best. My grandfather knew Albert Einstein. |

I ran into Gene Hackman outside a 7/11 north of Santa Fe NM.
He was getting into a Blue 308 GTB. We talked about his car for a few minutes. I met Peter Graves once. He was a Jerk. Almost forgot, Jerry Miculek did a demo at our gun club a few years ago. Real nice guy and an amazing shooter. |

I ran into Whoopie Goldberg once in NYC. As in, I was on my senior trip, not paying attention, turned a corner and flipped over this red couch on the sidewalk, damn near into her lap. Apparently they were filming some talk show on the side walk. As I was escorted off the "set", I said "hey, whoopie!" And she smiled and yelled back "love ya, baby!".

Also Cooter from dukes of hazard. He was signing $5 autographs at a trading card shop in myrtle beach. I was the only one in line...

And I met the main "big voice" guy for Disney, the one who does all their movie trailers. "Coming this summer...", that guy. He's fat as fuck but is straight loaded. Has the car from mr. Toads wild ride in his living room, and makes 15-30k for a 30 second read.

JC Watts - I hated to ask if it was him, but he said yes and we proceeded to have a 15 minute conversation why family matter more than anything. Awesome guy. Too bad he won't run again.
Mario Cuomo - when gov. Was slimy. Tried to tell me why a landfill in our town was a good thing to take trash from NYC and NJ. I (@ 16) told him he was the first dirt bag to arrive. Security ushered us off. Bill Clinton - 1994 in WH (part of a Govt project for HS) refused to shake his hand. Roger Clemens - has the biggest hands I have ever seen. Rotated 5 baseballs . Signed a ball and said he'd never play for the Yankees on my hat Howard Solomon - founder of Forest Pharmaceuticals. Was in the elevator when a bimbo pharma rep vomited on him....too much booze Goo Goo Dolls - before they made it big. Nice guys from a blue collar world. Rick Scott - went to our church in Naples, FL. His security really hated that the pastor had told everyone to please legally carry to protect the congregation. I know of at least 20 members packing when he was there. But it's Naples, not Miami. Mario Batali - was invited to the Naples Wine Fest but couldn't seem to scratch up the ticket fee ($10K) but went to a neurologist friend's house for breakfast the next morning - he cooked breakfast. I had a lot more fun than most that were severely hung over. |
