1996 Toyota Camry with 196000 on the clock.

My son bought it from my mom, she bought it new back in '96.

Technically, it is "his" car, but he doesn't have his license yet and I pay for the insurance, so I drive it when the weather is too foul for the bike.

Older than dirt, but still runs and it passes emissions, so I'm good with it. Had to buy new headlights this year though because the old ones got brittle and fell apart.

'87 Chevy 3/4 Ton 4X4.

These trucks have inherent rust issues, and I use this to plow, so the body is in a sad state.

2005 Focus wagon.

My first FWD, four-cylinder shitbox. I never thought I would own a small car, but the 35mpg is pretty nice compared to the F250.

1989 4Runner. 281k on the clock. 3.0L engine runs smooth. Rides a tad rough, interior rattles like a snake, trans is in need of a flush, drinks fuel, muffler sounds like it has asthma. But ill be damned if this thing wont plow through a building or ten and then a forest and still work when Im done. Just kinda wish that 3.0 would die so I could drop something with more "oompf" in there, but that aint happening anytime soon. Damn I love this truck!

I drive a 1994 Ford F-150 XL I bought 2 years ago for $2700.00. It was stored indoors most of its life and had only 55,000 miles, no rust and in great condition. Currently has 87,000 miles and has not missed a beat in 2 years. Been loving the $1.80- $1.90 gas prices since it only gets  16 mpg. What I have invested in it even if gas goes back over $3.00 still a great driver.

My non-winter beaters.   I use my 1997 Corolla in the Michigan shitty winters, and use my other two beaters when it's not shitty.   I'll take the TDI in the winter if the roads are DRY and free of salt and I have a long trip, while the 4Runner NEVER sees a Michigan winter.   I hate salt.

Oh, the TDI has about 280,000 miles on it, and the 4Runner about 175,000.   I rebulit the engine in it about 7 years ago.

This was my Daily driver for 3 years, just sold it a couple months ago still running as strong as ever.
89 Nissan, bought for 500 as my work truck/daily driver, sold for 500 with very little maintenance costs and averaged 30mpg.
This truck made me lots of money in the past 3 years but it was starting to hurt my back being lowered and very rough riding..
</a>" />
</a>" />
My new daily driver/work truck is the silverado in the background.
It does not get 30 mpg.

I somehow made the car look decent in this picture.  Since this was taken though, the front left fender and nose were damaged, along with some internals (just a tad), but it was enough to total it.

I kept it though, and continue to drive it.

278k, with about 85k on the engine and tranny, but it idles and drives like there's a combination of bad motor mounts, torque converter out of balance or something, and exhaust pipe touching frame somewhere.

The cheap-ass tires I replaced the pictured tires with probably don't help the ride smoothness either.

Used to get upper 27-8, but over last month has suddenly dropped to about 24mpg, so I'm kinda pissed about that.

t-tops leak (electrical tape helps and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb)

left signal doesn't cancel

ac doesn't work

center console is coming apart

door is sagging a little

trunk motor sometimes doesn't pop up when opened, so I have to poke my finger down in there to push on the switch

hood doesn't release sometimes, backup release wire installed just in case

diff leaks

clearcoat is disappearing

windshield cracked

door windows rattle a lot if they're down

back brakes want to grab when going slow in wet weather

some other stuff I can't think of at the moment

Years ago, a similar thread was started, but it was a contest asking who had the worst beater.

A guy posting a worked over blue Geo Metro held together with rope (and proved it was actually his and not a pic find) won big.  Everybody's ragged out X or Y looked like a Lexus by comparison.

Vehicles are a weakness. I want something new every year it seems, but now I'm married to this one.

Once this one is paid off I will buy another new truck, but I promised myself only if I can lay down 50% and finance the remainder for 2 years max. I've learned my lesson.
