Well that's close to home.. I've been to Engine Co. 30 a bunch of times this year at work, and there's a decent chance I've met that guy.


Also, I really don't think any of those things should land somebody in jail. A drum mag, some weed, a mask or two, and surgical gloves? You should be able to have the drum mag, and a gun to go with it for that matter- we do live in America. Weed is legal in DC now, or at least not illegal. Yes, I realize he was 1/2mi over the MD line but hell, I live two floors above a damned weed dispensary less than 4 miles from where he was picked up (yes, it smells very "skunky" in my apartment). It's pretty cold here and it just snowed last night, theres a face mask in my truck too. And he's a fireman- it's reasonable enough to expect him to have some surgical gloves in his car.

I know that I wasn't there and don't know the full story, but it seems to me that he didn't do anything serious enough to deserve his own news article. I could have filmed a juicier news story on my iPotato from the fire escape this evening.

Eta all I'm pointing out is it made the news only because he was a fireman. And I'll add that I really don't care if he smokes weed when he's off duty. Seems like everybody else in this city is a dope smoking hippy... Nobody in DC cares.
