Didn't the RCMP go through a flood area doing welfare checks and if they came across guns in an non-inhabited home they took them. Then put the owners through the wringer to reclaim their own property? View Quote Wow, just like the JBT's in Louisiana did. Except there they "confiscated" the firearms at gunpoint (pretty fucking ironic, huh), or beat down eighty year old women and took them. Or when that failed, just shot you dead. These bastards have the same opinion of "the people", were the slaves they're the masters. How mindlessly brainwashed and twisted do you have to be to do things like that to the very people you vowed to protect. |

The RCMP provides general policing for parts of B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and other provinces, outside of cities and jurisdictions that have their own LEA. At least U.S. alphabet agencies don't do that. |

Genius, they also deal with crimes that cross jurisdictions, as well as provide resources to agencies for local crimes... or do you plan on every town in the US being equipped with a lab as good as the FBI (which my agency has used a number of times)? You really have no clue how much support the feds give locals on a daily basis... or how much it would cost to try and meet those needs locally. |

not all RCMP officers are in favor of disarming the populace, several spoke out in favor of eliminating the long gun registry. The disarming nazis are the ones who aspire to the administrative and bureaucratic levels of the RCMP. A good example is the superintendent of the RCMP, Bob Paulson. when his daughters were teenagers, he would go to the door when either one of his daughters' prospective suitors would come calling and let them in. nothing wrong with this, except he would be wearing a pistol in a shoulder holster. this all came out in an unscripted interview, while he related to the host how the young men were totally intimidated by his demeanor and his attire, laughing his ass off. if any member of the public did this, they would be swatted. Paulson is still the superintendent of the RCMP.

That's part of the issue. Most people are brainwashed into thinking that the RCMP are "officer friendly". While I don't believe that every officer within its ranks are JBTs, there seems to be a growing number that fit the stereotype. A while back the RCMP narrowed its scope of potential candidates for new hires and most of those were university grads. I think this has gotten them into the position they are today with lots of officers that are out of touch with reality of today's society. They have turned very political and are making an "us against them" stand as of late.
Defunding the RCMP is a dream. It simply won't happen. I would like to see the RCMP serve only as a smaller federal force that works only federal orientated positions and leave the general policing to city and provincial forces that hire within their region. As well, they need to understand that they only enforce the laws of the land, not create them or lobby for them. They are alienating themselves from the public and the sooner they understand it, the quicker their recovery and respect of their program will occur. |
