I have a couple questions that might have been answered but I missed.
Was there a police report filed? Seems like the dealer would want that to document what happened to a customers car. Where was the accident in relation to the dealer? Where is the deer? Was the deer killed reported to the Ohio DNR. Get a game warden asking questions and things can get real interesting real quick. Has a request been made yet for the cellphone records of the guy driving? Was he talking to or texting his g/f or anyone else at the time of the accident? Did the shop give the non-service tech permission to drive the car? If so how many other customers had their vehicles driven by a non-tech with a terrible driving record? This has to be more than an "isolated incident". Has anyone created a Facebook page yet to Bill Cosby the dealership on damage done to their vehicle or excessive miles driven while in the shop? |

Can't believe they let that service rep. drive anyone's vehicle if that is really his driving record that was posted. In Michigan you would get your license suspended with 12 points which is something like 3 to 5 tickets.
I almost lost my license when I had an at fault accident in Arizona where I received four citation, including not changing my address within 14 days. Had to get a lawyer and female judge threw out all but one charge. This guy apparently has 16 charges in 6 years, with at least 4 speeding citations in the last 3 years. 2 driving with expired plates in the last 2 months. That alone would have resulted in a license revocation and impound of his vehicle in states I have lived in. Maybe he needed to drive vehicles from the dealership as his own had been towed for being caught driving without tags twice since 12-22-2014. How old is this Service Adviser, anyway? If that is his actual driving record I don't see how the dealership's insurance would cover him. If he doesn't do mechanical repairs on vehicles in his employment he shouldn't be taking vehicles home. An attorney should be able to find out his driving record and if the dealership owner, Service Manager and the service peon that wrecked your car are deposed by an attorney and that is his actual driving record they won't be able to settle fast enough to get this to go away. How long are they giving you the loaner for before they demand it back? Every time I have been in an accident it was my choice on who fixed the vehicle. I wouldn't let them fix it. I would take it to the most expensive place with the best body shop around. How much are you going to like having a 2015 vehicle with a new paint job? Screw that. |

I do disagree that other instances of the kid driving and damaging vehicles isn't relevant to the OP. It would show a pattern of negligence on the dealer's part. Lawyers love that type of thing, if this situation ends up going that far. Also say a dozen customers call up and start complaining about damage done to their vehicles while in the shop, that puts even more pressure on the dealer to make this situation go away. I've hit 4 deer and only 1 of them survived. The vehicle only had a cracked grill on the one that ran off. I doubt that deer survived. If it did it would have had lots of broken bones. While there is no requirement to notify the DNR when you hit a deer, the DNR still has a vested interest knowing about it. Especially if said accident was caused because the kid was high or on his cellphone. It's just another screw to turn in order to increase pressure on those involved. |
