They used to be an MTV favorite, but then the crowd burned down some of MTV's equipment during Limp Bizkit's set at MTV's 1999 rehash of Woodstock, essentially throwing a damper on the whole event as it served to display very clearly that the festival had nothing to do with the "Peace, Love, and Music" vibe back in '69.
After that, MTV branded them as moronic white-trash neanderthals who deserved no attention and should go away. They were basically blacklisted by the media outlets who help determine what will and will not be popular. |

Then shit EXPLODED. |

Wes Borland's (guitar player) parents live(d) right down the road from me.
I used to like the band but like others here, they don't even cross my mind any more. From what I understand Fred was extremely tough to deal/work with. |

I figure anybody that records and releases a song called "Chocolate Starfish" would be easy going and polite. |

Meh, they had a few really good tunes that I enjoyed back in the day, and that I still crank up when they pop up on my iPod.
My money says that many of the cool kids hating on them now used to listen to them way back when. |

I would imagine the lack of talent has been hard on there career. Flash in the pan.

I completely forgot about Woodstock 99 and the whole riot thing NuMetal was a fad that didn't last long. I think Korn started the whole thing |

Per their website they're playing an upcoming gig on a cruise a bunch of also-ran's from the early to mid 2000's.
Then after that it looks like they share the same fate as most American acts after a few years - they go on to play shows in europe and around the world until they forget about them too. |

Probably sucking dick for beer money since they had no talent to bank on. Is that too harsh? http://memecrunch.com/meme/3R28E/if-you-have-to-ask/image.jpg?w=400&c=1 I might go a whole six pack. I mean I'm not gay or anything, but how many people can say they had their dick sucked by Fred Durst for six pack of Bud Light Lime? |

They sucked and fell into obscurity as soon as MTV quit pushing them.
|

Not a big fan, but their music does take me back to better times: pre-9/11, pre-War on Terror, pre-Great Recession, pre-Obama, pre-ammo shortages, etc.
(Yeah the AWB was alive & well in 1999, but I wasn't into ARs back then.)

if you could go back to the early 2000s you would remember the incredible hatred for red hats and white shirts
you either loved them or hated them Wes Borland left and did his own thing Limp Bizkit was crashing anyways he got out while he could and now they are back playing again... dont care for the new stuff still love the old stuff Korn has sorta managed to hang on trying to keep up with the times new stuff is okay still love the old stuff just part of my very odd collection of music I like |

Well, the works of Aeschylus, Chaucer, Twain, Hemingway, Petrarch and Frost were but mere stepping stones up the ziggurat of Western culture, the peak of which is Nookie. From such dizzying lyrical heights, our civilization had naught but to fall.
