But it's sorta like a tapered cloud. Like, the thing is that I figured if you make the silencer like include like the entire sound cloud, it'll quiet the BANG. You know? Dude. Man. You know what I'm saying. It's really simple if you just understand like basic mechanical physical like cloud sounds. So, you know. That's how I did it, bro. |

Mention of the sonic crack being louder; On sound meter it should measure the things. 1 the sound of the bolt 2 the sound of the muzzle 3 the sonic crack which generally starts a few feet from the barrel. In rapid fire, these sounds can seem all the same to the human ear. With a proper meter, it can differentiate the sounds. So with the proper gas trapping and relief, along with noise canceling harmonics, the theory is possible for it to be quiet at the muzzle. He may be omitting the sounds of 1&3. View Quote Neat! So, a business owner that uses GMail for company emails is participating in a contest to validate his company? It's starting off pretty well. I work for a 15 billion a year conservative estimate international company our email backbone is Gmail. I'd wager a guess that they have a domain tied into the setup though. Gmail servers are fantastic and I personally use the shit out of Google products, but when people see an email address that isn't ending in your company name, it says that you haven't made enough money to justify paying $7 a year to claim it. Who cares if it looks like a dildo with huge balls if it actually resulted in 78dB on a 5.56. Breakthroughs in tech don't come from simply doing what every other person is doing. I quietly thought to myself this would be cool if it somehow works, but didn't really have much confidence that it actually would. That interview though, kinda put the nail in the coffin. I'm not well versed on suppressors but I'm not understanding the derision about stuff like bullet crack, action cycling noise etc. No suppressor on the market does that because it has no impact on either of those things. It is conceivably possible to have a report that is quieter than the action cycling (or using a bolt action). It seems to me that Jesse James has a less than average knowledge of firearms but decided to try to cash in on the gun sales boom by using his fabricating skills and his name. More power to him I guess but jumping headfirst into a very small and competitive industry such as suppressors is both gutsy and stupid. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile View Quote It's true that he may be just talking about the sound at the muzzle being 78db, and ignoring the sound of the action and the sonic crack. However, in those videos he posted, there is NO sonic crack at all - which means he's using subsonic ammo, which means that gun shouldn't even be cycling, which means something's fucky. |
|
Quoted:
Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't a supersonic round have way more than78db from the crack alone if you zeroed-out all of the muzzle blast? View Quote I've never seen him come forward on how he measured the sound and what math he used to come to his final suppressed db rating. For example, any one of us can make a suppressor with 0db such as: 74hc ultra suppressor rated at 0db.* *sound measured at 150miles from muzzle, ymmv. Or this math like this: actual measured sound db - sound db produced by action = 78db. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Just curious....were you getting decibel levels anywhere close to what he's claiming? Concepts at this point. Nothing tangible as of yet. What his design does is manage the sound contraction wave in a manner so it doesn't distort. The gasses want to expand. Allowing them to in a contractional ratio is the key to managing the distortion. Add: divergence/convergence ratios to be more precise. The mass velocity is the determining factor here. The energy of a sound wave is dependent on the energy of the gasses it is held within, as does its relative velocity. its just a 2 stroke pipe, not rocket science.. You guys are talking like bunch of fags. You are just peanut butter and jealous of how Jessie is going to come into the gun world and become the front runner. He literally has no idea what he is talking about. He hasn't done anything but create a mediocre, ugly and (in my opinion) poorly constructed rifle can. A bunch of bolts holding it together? Some of you don't understand JJ anymore than I understand suppressors and the science behind them.
His silencer isn't being made for people like us, it's being made for those who buy anything he makes. He's the Steve Jobs of the gun world. He's an incredible fabricator with, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here, a high school education. He's part showman, part artist and part dumbass with a big cult following. It doesn't matter to his loyal followers if it works as he says or not, they expect him to exaggerate, it's part of his schtick and they love him for it. You buy a JJ creation for the sole reason it was made by JJ, not because it works. |
