and from what I understand he switched out the gas block again after that.

He even says in the video that Larue should state that you can't use other gas blocks on their rifles.

That video is like a perfect tutorial on what not to do when diagnosing rifle problems.

NutNFancy is a perfect tutorial on what not to with guns,  in one of his videos he says how if he goes to a class he is open to some things but he isnt going to change how he shoots, I know how to shoot I dont need someone to tell me.  then he goes on to shoot a course of fire and prove he is a mediocre shooter who should take some classes and be open to new ideas.

Actually, if they wanted honest reviews, send items to the non-fan boyz.

I offered this up a couple years ago and never got taken up on it.

Its easy to get adda boys from a fan base, it seems if you get one from a non kool aid drinker, it would carry more weight. Convert the nay sayers. lol.

Point is, if you buy a 1200 dollar upper, only use premium ammo and don't attempt to modify anything? Oh, and be sure to change your buffer and spring if it don't work right.

I appreciate your point. but is the gas hole in the gas block not big enough to handle some tolerance slack?

  Not really.

ESPECIALLY when using underpowered ammo.

Its basically like he shrank his gas port.

You can modify it; just make sure the mods(gas block) are installed correctly. It's not that difficult, people.

no the point is if you buy ANY upper from anyone, and YOU modify it away from its factory configuration, don't blame the OEM when it doesn't work and don't expect them to fix it. because YOU installed 3rd party parts that may or may not be compatible and you may or may not have installed said part correctly..

Its a PRI front flip up. I indexed the gas block off the index hole on the bottom of the barrel, PRI bottom has a "sight hole" in its mount and the SS barrel has the index spot drilled into it to correspond to the gas hole on the other side. I have this for 5 years now and its a tack driver and has never been under gassed.

So based on that one picture, its conclusive of the shooter putting the it on wrong.

Same kinda gap

Bottom indexing hole

Ive never heard of this NutFancy guy before, but I find it funny that no one can admit that maybe the gas hole wasnt drilled to spec.

what RA is saying is the distance between the shoulder on the barrel and the center of the gas port hole is shorter on the larue barrel than on Die-Tryin's barrel. and if you index a gas block with the same gap on the larue as a barrel made to have a hand guard cap the gas port hole in the block and the gas port in the barrel will not be aligned front to back. part of the gas blocks port will be over barrel steel and part over the gas port in the barrel effectively reducing the size of the gas port in the barrel.

and boom we have short stroke city.

Hmmm. If you can diagnose it in a few minutes from a picture, on the internet, why can't trained, experienced armorers pick that up in the shop? As you have shown, if somebody has experience, they should have picked up on it right away.

There would actually be a simple solution to this, without any guessing. Get a vendor barrel, flip it over, if there is a gas block index mark, put a PRI on the barrel and line up the index mark and then see where the gas block sits compared to the shoulder.
