It was a little unreliable, so I changed a bunch of shit and it got worse. Also, lol at "made sure the gas rings weren't lined up" Finally, I had to stop at "WTH" I was told it was started to get soldiers to pay more attention to there bolt (make sure the gas rings hadn't broken) I'm sure nutnfancy could do a 3 hour dissertation on it |

Did this upper cycle fine before he swapped out the OEM gas block?
Why would someone buy a $1200 upper and swap out the gas block for something not OEM? I would think that once he changed parts out for non LaRue parts, wouldn't that void a warranty? |

First Im pretty sure Larue Stealth uppers never came with PRI gas blocks, and you can see the Larue gas block in his other config. He took apart Larue's upper, mis-reassembled it, and then blamed Larue. I am not a big Larue fan, but Nutnfancy is an idiot, and this is not Larue's fault.

I couldn't listen to that clown blather on for more than 15 seconds. Newsflash: Complicated mechanical devices occasionally don't work right. I've seen subsystems on aircraft pass multiple QC checks but don't perform properly when installed. It happens. There are 10,000's satisfied LaRue owners out there. One bad example in the hands of a popular Youtube jackass doesn't amount to much. Anyone looking to dump their LaRue uppers send me a PM. I'll take them off your hands for $350. View Quote I'll match that and pay for shipping... Also, 100% spot on with your post. I enjoy Nutnfancy's videos and I love LaRue... stuff happens. |

He has a picture of the PRI gas block pushed up with handgaurd cap spacing.
I am willing to bet Larue barrels are not set up for handgaurd cap spaces in there since they are not made to take them, many barrels do not. Im going to go ahead with my original conclusion that he drilled his gas port for no reason and over gassed his gun because he is a retard.

Nutnfancy is an insufferable douche, he showed up here once when someone complained about him using a photo that the guy here took. He's a real weirdo who speaks of himself in the third person. Probably because people change out perfectly functionl parts on their AR's for no other reason other than just because. edit: I saw where he took the LaRue rail off for something else (was it a Troy rail, I couldn't tell) and probably did so because the gas block wouldn't fit with his new rail. Again, I don't see buying $1200 upper just to swap parts out. |

I couldn't get past 7 minutes of that video. If Nuthugger did in fact have a legitimate issue with his Larue upper then he did a terrible job at conveying his message. If I were in the market for a Larue Stealth upper, this 35 minute too long diatribe would carry exactly zero weight.

Did he get a free bottle opener though? View Quote You know, when I put the LaRue gas block on mine I had to dimple the barrel (used a little drill bit) to allow the 3 set screws to make the gas block "tight" to the barrel. I don't think I would do anything to the upper that would require me to change out that gas block. If new rails didn't fit.........I would send the rails back........I wouldn't mess around with the way I installed the gas block. |
