(CNN)—For another weekend, moviegoers will be glued to their seats, watching the grit and turmoil of Chris Kyle, the real-life character portrayed in "American Sniper." But for Kyle's widow, Taya, the blockbuster hit is all too real. Fortunately, she's not alone. Friday, Taya was left searching for words after the nonprofit organization AmericanSnipers.org awarded her family $62,000 from its successful rifle raffle. http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/24/entertainment/american-sniper-widow-speechless-after-rifle-raffle/index.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fcnn_latest+%28RSS%3A+Most+Recent%29 |

I wonder how much the Kyle family is making from this movie. Hopefully a bunch.

3 sold out shows in a row here. First movie my wife and I saw at the theater in 17 years. Probably the best too.
Hope she makes tons of $ to off set the law suit and her grief. |

The rifle didn't lie. (Seriously, good on the raffle) |

I read the other day that Chris Kyle got paid 1.5 million for the book and donated all of it to charity for Vets (if I'm not mistaken).
So I know Forged clothing gave her over 1 mil for all the "Legend" campaign shirts they sold to help offset Ventura being a shitbag. Seems that the Kyle family keeps giving back to the community and it's getting reciprocated right back. Awesome to see a heros family being taken care of by the gun community |

Went to the first showing on friday, the 12:30pm show, bought my ticket @ 12:20 and it was so packed I had to sit in the 2nd to last row from the top of the stadium style theater, I was overwhelmed. All in all the people were behaved except one old lady kept jacking with her cell phone in the front 2 or 3 rows, as others have noted, dead silence upon exit. The funeral video is hard to watch without shedding some tears. The take from this movie will be massive. I hope his family gets some cut?

I haven't been and plan to go tomorrow. What did piss me off and I'm normally neutral about it was I've heard several people talking about a high quality rip floating around...wtf go watch a killer good movie and help the guys family out.

I'm glad that AmericanSnipers.org was able to raise that money. I was at Shot Show and made several visits to their booth and put in some money for the raffle tickets and few items they were selling at their table. That McMillan Tac 338 was a gorgeous rifle and it was autographed by Taya Kyle as well.

CNN goes from bashing Kyle to having his wife on for an interview?

was the first movie I've seen in the theater in years.
Not only did I get my money's worth, but I'm hoping some of it goes to the family |

Good for Mrs. Kyle. Hopefully she won't ever have to worry about providing for her family ever again.
A rare piece of non-biased coverage from CNN, of all outlets. Influenced by the blowback on MM rather than actual good intent, no doubt. FJV

Odd that they did not have key man insurance on kyle. He is the only one of the craft owners who was an actual fighter, I think the other two guys are bankers. So now it's two bankers with some former contractor dudes working for them teaching classes. She also owes a $ 314k mortgage, seems like she could pay that off at this point |

Did Jesse actually sue her personally or did he sue the publisher and Kyle's company? If it was the latter the damages awarded to Ventura may have been covered by some sort of policy against exactly that sort of thing. I also wouldn't be surprised if he comes back looking for more, he's like Gollum.

IIRC, she also advocated not standing in defense of police officers. |
