When the € was created it was worth about 1.5 Swiss franc...
Along the years it rose up to 1.7 or something,.. Then it started it slow decent down to 1swiss franc = 1€ back in 2011... But at the time that was bad for our exports and industry, so the Swiss National Bank started buying huge among of € to artificially keeping it at a deck price of 1€ = 1.2 Swiss franc... In doing so, it kept the $ at parity with the Swiss franc since 2011.... Today they just decided to stop that policy, and the € lost 20% in the last 20min... It's now slightly below the Swiss franc... The dollar is now worth ONLY 0.85 Swiss Franc and falling ! Time to go shopping 
Ps: if you planned to visit Switzerland, this is bad news. Don't know how much of a bad news it's for Switzerland in the long term too... Ps2: now watch... If the Swiss franc keep rising on the dollars, it means that our currency was under evaluated... But if only the euro collapses... It's means... Well... trouble for some... |
