Murder Stannis, huh?  I guess he might as well arrange to have Daenerys, Tommen, and Myrcella murdered while he's at it.

He needs to marry Myrcella to become King.  I don't think he believes in magic so he almost certainly discounts Dany.  Tommen is almost certainly marked for death.

I doubt it.  It's just right now I wouldn't think she's very high on his list of priorities.

I thought they did a good job bringing the Night's Watch election down to TV length. Loved that they gave Maester Aemon the decisive vote.

Brienne is badass, but maybe a bit misguided.

Arya is destined to kill a lot of people. Still my favorite character - book or show - and it's not even close.

Marrying Sansa to Ramsay is difficult to imagine. Maybe she could slit his throat in his sleep.

that's easy to say, but stannis has a difficult-to-assess supernatural ace in the hole.  furthermore, stannis is in the field--how do you get close to him, if you're littlefinger?  and whether you fail or succeed, how do you keep the trail of breadcrumbs from pointing back at you?

arguably, defeating bolton (who is not particularly liked in the north) before he has a chance to consolidate is a more plausible strategy.  bolton has little political power--it's all muscle.  he looks tough, but he has no actual allies and no ante for the larger game.  plus, littlefinger can use stannis against bolton--it's hard to go the other route, since littlefinger has no muscle.

Well, I think part of the problem is that book Littlefinger and HBO Littlefinger are taking different routes.

He's Cersei's lapdog, and Arya may have heard about his treatment of her sister (at Joffrey's command).

Regarding the quotes from above, I highly doubt anyone outside of Joffrey's court knew about that, since word getting out at that time might have resulted in Robb cutting off one of Jaime's appendages in retaliation.

Well speaking of things we CAN discuss without spoilers.

How much of a badass is Brienne? That was pretty awesome, and it once again highlighted that she is very good at kicking people's asses.
I kind of hate how they are portraying Pod as a bumbling idiot though. I never quite got that sense in the books.
UNLESS the show is setting up Pod for some sort of heroic act later on. They seem to be cultivating a lot of sympathy for him on the show, I wonder if he will be killed off this season?
(this is not a spoiler, it's speculation)

That's funny.  Either the show is intentionally showing Cersei to be flat lying to Jaime or they made a mistake.  I'd lean toward the first one because I believe the writers know for a fact that there are a great many GoT fans that nerd out over stuff like this.

Bodes poorly for Jaime, IMO.

Or someone with close access to Sansa got his little hands on it and sent it to Cersi, impling that is was from Dorne, to cause tension between the Lanisters and Dorne.

Damn, that makes the most sense of all.

The prophecy never said anything about the Valonqar being Cersei's little brother. One of the most supported theories is that it is in fact Sandor Clegane that leads to Cersei's death. Sandor Clegane is Gregor Clegane's little brother.

Good point. To discuss why Sandor Clegane might make sense, book spoilers would be involved. But for show-watchers, let's just say his death hasn't been verified.

the theories name a lot of people who aren't little brothers.   The idea is that valonqar can just mean a younger sibling.   I personally think its Jaime or Tyrion, but...

It's a misconception that Valonqar means "little brother". It's a rough translation from Valerian anyway. In fact amongst the super geeky ASOIAF community, they are 60/40 on whether it's meant to be a male or female.

But I do find it intriguing that the possibilities are so open.

Couple speculations:

I don't know if it will happen, but I sure hope that show Cersei descends into madness. That would make for some great drama.

Also, I think Jon Snow's arc is going to be moving forward pretty quickly this season. I am not sure how Samwell's arc is going to shape up, I honestly don't see him going anywhere.

They said this season there is going to be like 5 major character deaths. I don't know what they consider a major character. Here's my guesses:

"Cersie, the Mountain, Walder Frey, ???"

Well, at least the Hound's off the list now.  We know he's got to return.  Sandor Clegane, FTW!
