I think i'm gonna put in an order for one more before the price change.  after that I think they've priced me out of the sight unseen rifle market

but just a heads-up for you poor unfortunate bastards that don't have one yet, move your dead asses, you've got two days left

ETA:  for people who don't read threads, the price increase was much ado about nothing, turned out to be like five bucks.  course they are up $75 from a year ago so they're not against raising prices, get one while you can

Good. If it takes six months to fill an order then they're too cheap.

Paid $675 (shipped to my door) for my Service Grade SA in the 1 million SN range.  This puts its date of manufacture at Nov 1943 IIRC.  Nice USGI walnut stock.  I will never sell this gun.  It is probably the best $675 I ever spent and it was thanks to the influence of Arfcom

$595 is the cheapest right now. Maybe they bump it $100?

The prive got high enough that I decided I'd spend the $850 to inspect one locally and pick up one after looking it over.   You gotta watch but they show up, and I don't like the sight unseen thing along with the wait times for the $$$ I'd spend for a CMP Garand....

BUT......a CMP....CMP Garand has a ring to it.

Didn't happen.  The release in mid 2014 depleted the IHC Garands to the point that they didn't have enough to do a second.  They just recently got done shipping backorders from the earlier release.  I love mine!

Don't they charge when they ship?  And doesn't it take them a couple months to ship?  So if I order tomorrow, I can have funds ready in a few weeks, so I should be ok?

Nice!!

I have a couple dozen M1s, but not a single BM59. The .308 FN49s fill that hole, but they aren't BM59s.

Thanks for the drool-worthy pic!

Totally predictable, too. Those of you on the fence, repeat this to yourself: Garands will never again be as cheap as they are right now from the CMP. Garands will never again be as cheap as they are right now from the CMP. Garands will never again be as cheap as they are right now from the CMP.

Buy the best you can afford.  Still, I got a field grade, and it tested WELL above specs for TE and MW.  It was a Greek return.  The wood is nice...but whatever it is, it ain't walnut.  I made the drive to the Camp Perry, so I'm sure I got the best FG in the store.  Ditto when I got my carbine.

That's beautiful.  If I had that rifle, I don't know if I'd take it out to buttstroke some Nazis, or just put it in a glass case and admire it.

Did you buy that at the auction?  Or did it come as a service grade?  That wood is very impresive.

It's easy, there is a sticky in the m1/m1a sub forum here that is very helpful.

orders received before the 12th will be honored at the old prices so you've actually still got time to get an order in after you see what the price will rise to on the 5th

also, looking around the forums orders are FLYING out the fucking door.  like 3 wks mail to doorstep flying

fastest I've ever seen
