I would dig around on the various pages of this forum, and gather your info vs. reaching out to GD. Each rifle has its pros and cons, and doing some research on the site, and then asking some  technical questions in the appropriate topic areas will go a lot further for you.

Also, you will eventually end up with both rifles so IMO it doesn't matter which you get first.

Also in terms of accessories, it seems the AR wins since you can do a lot more upgrades as opposed to the AK

Magpul is going to release a furniture set and you can do almost anything with the AK accessories wise.

Which rifle is the best?  I hear that the best company is Colt and it isnt an AR15 unless its a Colt since they started the development of the rifle
