Coincidentally I just watched it 30mins ago. Missed some of the middle, but great movie from what I saw.

Never heard of it before I saw it "on-demand" a couple years ago.
Piss poor marketing for what was a great movie. |

How did this movie sneak by? Would recommend seeing it if you haven't. http://youtu.be/6RwAWZtK5Uw View Quote Mobo |

I saw it in the theater and hated it.
Someone tried to turn a western into an art film. |

It should come with a warning label it sucks so hard. Don't have any loose objects small children or household pets near your TV if you play this turd of a movie because it might suck them into the screen.
Did I mention that this movie sucks? |

Didn't the decedent's of Robert ford try to sue the producers over the name?
I could be wrong but I thought I heard something like that when it was coming out. Tried to watch it once and couldnt, it was bad |

Totally confirmed for me that Casey Affleck has the acting ability in the family.

It was said to have been made as historically accurate as possible.

It's a great movie.....just not enough shooting and "action" for some here.....it's worth a look!

jesse james faked his death and lived under an assumed name. i saw it for myself the other night on some H2 channel or something with some guy who did his own fact checking.

Probably the most accurate portrayal of the real life characters ever produced. Not romantic. Not a shoot 'em up bullshit Hollywood cowboy flick. Not what we're conditioned to seeing in the 'western' movie genre. Acting is a spot on reflection of the period. Deal with it.
ETA: Pitt's Jesse James is a psychopathic killer and very scary dude as has been historically documented. Not a very nice guy and not someone you wanted to cross paths with in any way. |

Quite exciting in a deeper way than just visuals alone. There was alot to absorb and test the gray matter in this movie. Personally, I thought the visual presentation was superb as well. To each his own I guess. |

I fell asleep. It was boring enough that I never tried to watch it again.

It was the Lensbaby camera work and the narration that made it awful. The director, not the actors, ruined what could have been a truly excellent film. |

Amazing character study. Suspenseful too. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, waiting for Jesse to figure it out. Even when I knew what happened.
Casting was superb and I agree, one of Brad Pitt's best roles. Easily his most unrecognized. IIRC, he is from MO (by way of OK, of course). |

I thought it was great, but we have long winters up these parts

I liked it. I read a lot about that period of American history though so I liked that it was pretty accurate. |

Damn good movie. Amazing performances by Sam Rockwell, Garret Dillahunt, and even Jeremy Renner. Casey Affleck knocks it out of the park.
Nice Cave's score is so haunting. It really makes the film. |
