Soooo many good great tunes already listed.  This one screams "70's".

It was on daily airplay through the middle 1980s, though the album was released in 1971. It's only competition would be Money, but STH is more famous/infamous. It dominated FM rock stations in the U.S.

Foghat - I just want to make love to you

Maybe a bit early, but this song always reminds me of the badass attitude of that era. That and the rest of the dazed and confused soundtrack are all worthwhile.

And here I was thinking all these years that was Quiet Riot's song.

Dayum, that was a straight-up steal!

I can't believe that song, sung that way...was originally from 1973!!!

I don't know how I almost forgot this. Back in the good old days we had live bands for school sock hops. Every one of them played this.

I don't think it got much air play because I don't remember it either and I was in HS in 73.

The Hollies put an exclamation on the late 60's with this 1972 release.

Most everything that ran on the pop charts after that should be considered "Adult easy listening"

"Long Cool Woman"

I went to college at Northern Michigan University in the late 70's.  The radio stations in Marquette only played the top 20....over & over & over for some of the longest winters of my entire life.  Fortunately I found ONE station that played some country music otherwise the shreads of sanity I had left would have been broken.

Great choice, and the unexpected xylophone solo is a bonus.

Here's my choice:

I think we wore out several cassettes of "Fool For the City" while cruising the local strip...I still have a CD copy in my truck.

Mid 1970s there was one voice coming onto the scene that still resonates today;  BOB SEGER.  Here's the album that put him into the national spotlight.
