I've never heard of such.

I've had one person start flipping through my pics after I handed them my phone to show them the ONE pic up on the screen. It was a friend of my mom's and maybe she just isn't up on phone etiquette because she's older, I guess.

I just grabbed my phone back and said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Scroll at your own risk!"

We laughed, she looked a little embarrassed and that was that.

I've never seen anyone else think it was acceptable to do that.

No idea why they do that. My wife used to want to look though stuff. I asked for her phone so I could read her texts/ FB messages and listen to her voicemails/ voxes. She doesn't ask to look though my phone any more.

The juiciest thing she'd find on my phone is a picture of her own backside that I took when she wasn't looking. She'd be pissed.

Woke up one morning to find a girl I had just started seeing in my kitchen. I could tell something was wrong and after some prodding, she admitted to looking through my phone and she saw that I was texting another girl. I knew for certain that I was not texting anyone else so I asked her to show me what she was talking about. Ended up being the "shortcuts" like. "be there in 5" or "i'll call when I can". She was terribly embarrassed and I went against my gut in keeping her around. Wasted too much time trying to gain her trust. I'd bail the second that crap started if I were to come across that again.

I've tried to get booby pictures of my wife for a lot of years. Never had any luck trying to bargain with her to get any.
