I'd heard this all had to do with an accident involving lots of property damage a couple years ago, and possibly another one since.
If it's actually money-related, couldn't they just retroactively get rid of the extraneous white guy no one cares about so they can keep Kari and Grant? |

The show is supposed to be going back to the original format and focusing more on the builds instead of 5 minutes of build footage, 15 minute super slow-mo explosions.

While I'll miss the three stooges, especially Kari's hotness, I'll be glad to see the original format with more building and less low grade theatrics. Maybe they'll bring Kari's ass back for a cameo now and again. Grant and Tori too, Grant can do math and Tori can hurt himself for yuks.

the last couple of seasons seem to have been shorter than normal

They could use a real engineer, not just an SFX coordinator.
I still remember the cherry-picker catapult that slammed into the ground because it didn't have a crossbar to stop it's movement at the top of the arc, and instead slammed into the ground. Seemed like the kind of thing an engineer would notice... but then Jamie would find himself out straight-manned by the engineer when it comes to humor. |
