Any other Northwest beer guys like Ninkasi beers a lot? Up here in WA it seems like the hot style is IPA. While I like IPAs, I can only drink so many of them, (I have put away quite a few, and particularly like Red Hook IPA.)

I have really enjoyed Ninkasi's Prismatic Lager series. I have had the Lux and the Venn. Oatis is kickass as well.

I tend to prefer stouts, porters, lagers, dunkels, brown ales.

So, for the PNW, what are some good recommendations for Dunkels and Brown Ales?

Hawk One Lager from Northwest brewing is a excellent lager.

British Pale Ale from 7 Seas is delicious, if you're looking for something new castle ish you'll love it.

Also anything from Elysian or redhook is good.

No specific recommendations for those types.  However overall I'd say Deschutes  Brewery (Bend, Or) puts out some world class beers.  For a special treat buy some of the limited production that's aged in old  bourbon barrels.  If you buy it "new" let it sit a year or two before drinking.  Good stuff....

As far as brown ales, New Castle is alright. the Real Ale Nutbrown is one I really love, Cigar City Maduro Brown ale was pretty good.

I will have to search out the Hawk One Lager.

I had two of them

Their Spacedust IPA and Dayglow IPA's are also awesome

ETA: if you find Dayglow let me know, it's a seasonal beer and it ain't the season right now.

I have had quite a few Deschutes beers, none of their bourbon barrel aged beers though. I really love barrel aged beers.

Black Metal by Jester King was awesome.

The Dogfather bourbon barrel was another good one.

I was going to recommend the Deschutes dark brews.  They were always my favorites growing up there.

Have you tried the Pike Place offerings?  What about Pyramid?  It depends on where you are in WA and you could grab some smaller micro offerings...

Ps.  I used to live a few blocks away from the Red Hook Brewery back in the day.  Lord I have had my fill of their product!!!

I find Total Domination to be Ninkasi's best IPA.  IPA by Portland Brewing is my favorite beer right now.  Can't get enough.

Irish Death, Iron Horse Brewery.
Doesn't really fit into any particular category other than dark ale.  Very tasty.

I will try it, but I am about IPA'd out by the PNW.

I haven't seen any of their brews, I will keep an eye out for them.

I also had Claymore Scotch Ale by Great Divide, that was awesome as well.

Loved it, made beer cheese soup with it twice. I also have a bottle of Mocha Death in my fridge right now, as well as a bottle of Bridgeport's Ebenezer Ale.

I know you mentioned it in the OP but Ninkasi Oatis is one of my favorite beers right now. Great summer time beer. Get shit done around the house, chill out on the deck with a tall boy of Oatis and relax.

those that haven't tried it, need to. it got me into drinking oatmeal stouts, but it's still the best.

if you run into anything brewed by SIlver City, give it a try. they used to operate the brewery out of their restaurant in Silverdale, but started up a separate operation and have really started churning them out for the rest of the state. mostly available in Kitsap co. though.

ninkasi and deschutes are good beers op?

if you really believe that, you need to remove yourself from the genepool

Try any of the john john (I think the correct spelling) offerings from rogue. They are aged.in bourbon barrels and the john john dead guy will flat mess you up.

10 barrels brewing out of bend brews some good stuff. I really liked their project failed red ale last year.

Double mountain in hood river makes a cherry beer that is delicious and strong. I'm kinda biased though because they used my cherries.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Mac & Jack's African Amber, but I want to give it another go, as I had growler of it, so it could have been a bad sampling.

I love Moose Drool, Although I haven't seen it here but maybe 1 time.

I really enjoyed Odin's Gift.

I will keep an eye out for the others.

I think that is a matter of opinion, I like their German style offerings, which seems to have less of a hold here than in Texas. Everyone here focuses on all these fucking pale ales. Everything is incredibly bitter. And again, its not that I can't and don't enjoy those types of beer, they just aren't my preferred styles so I get burned out on them rather quickly, especially in the winter.

Add in Lucille from Georgetown and Elysian's The Immortal.

I am partial to Jolly Roger Christmas Ale and Widmer Brrr. The Jolly cellars very well also.
Christmas Ale is similar to Ninkasi Sleigher.
