Since this is an anonymous poll lets be honest. How often do you shoot?
I shoot at least once per week unless work gets in the way. Sometimes more. I keep track of my round count. This year i'm down a bit.
3k 5.56 and 12 k 9mm, about 600 shotgun. |
Since I recently got a can for my 10/22 and buckmark.....
......DAILY! FUCK YEAH! |
depends on the time of year. In the fall I'm busy hunting and don't have time to shoot outside of what I shoot while hunting. In the winter it's usually too cold to enjoy shooting so I don't go much. The rest fo the year I try to get out at least once a month.
Less than I wish I could. More in the spring/summer/fall, not much in the winter because weather.
I try hard to get to once every 2 weeks but .22 prices and time commitments have took that up to once every 3-4 weeks. I think so far I've been out about 18 times in 2014. I wish I could do a bit more.
The saving grace is I do get the use the air rifle pretty frequently to keep up target practice. |
I mostly shoot my pellet and BB guns. I credit that shooting with my good marksmanship. I shoot them almost every day. Sometimes at targets, sometimes at squirrels.
I shot during hunting season and killed what I shot at so I guess the practice worked. I'm surprised pellet guns aren't more popular. You can shoot them in your yard, or even your house if it's long enough. It's cheaper than 22. I used to shoot at the range more than I do now. I'm trying to save money and conserve ammo so I don't get out much anymore. Maybe once every few months if I'm lucky. |
I am in the not as much as I should or wish I could. It isn't because of lack of ammo but lack of time. Seems there is always something more important to be done.
But tomorrow I will be taking my daughter out to shoot her 22 for the first time. I will also finally get to shoot my SP2022 that I have owned for a few months and haven't yet shot. Then there is the K-31 that I need to sight in the scope I put on it almost a year ago. I need to go shoot more often. |
try to go at least every month... sometims i'll go twice in a month, sometimes once in a few months... i don't shoot as much as i'd like to...

At 77 votes and I'm the only one that shoots several times a week?

Its seasonal. I shoot more than weekly from sep-march....not so much during the summer months
I was going to say about a tablespoon full but, I see we're having a different discussion.
I really don't shoot all that often. Once every couple of months, sometimes I will go two weeks in a row. But there's nowhere around here to go shooting for free, I have to go to one of two or three overpriced ranges. So on top of paying $12-$20 for range fees, I have to replace any ammo I shoot because I have a compulsion to only add and never subtract from my ammo stock.

At least 6 times a month.
I have a great local indoor range. They have IPSC style fun shoots on Thursday and Friday. I pay a monthly fee ($25?) So no range fees. |
Voted every couple months, that is what it has been lately! Until 6 months ago it was two to three times a month!
The frequency is going to increase soon! |
Not much this year.
If you don't count what I've shot hunting. Maybe 200 rounds of 9mm, 50 rounds of .45 ACP a couple cylinders of .357, less than a box of .30-06, 4-5 rounds of 7mm. If you count hunting then add 150 or so rounds of 12 ga, 1 round of .30-06, 1 round of 7mm. |
Once a week, I reload and desert shoot 17 mins from my driveway.
Couple times a week, I have my own range, when we first moved here I shot everyday for a month, I quickly realized the budget couldn't support that even with casting bullets and hand loading.
Not as much as I should, but no indoor ranges around here...
I'd shoot everyday if work didn't get in the way, but then if I didn't work I couldn't afford it.
Usually a couple time s a month in the cooler months and at least weekly when the weather warms up. |
I haven't shot anything but semen in well over 2 years... Maybe closer to 3?
Once to twice a month in the winter. Once a week in the summer.

At 77 votes and I'm the only one that shoots several times a week? View Quote You STILL need to practice that much? I was lucky, I was able in my 20s and early 30s to shoot rifle/pistol 4 days a week. Established muscle memory. Carrying every day reinforces handling habits. Hitting the range every 6 weeks or so ensures I still know how to shoot the contraption. The older you get, the less time you have for all of the important stuff in life. Hitting the range is just one of the sacrifices. |

I try to go shoot once a week when the weather is nice
in the winter up here it more like once every two weeks or so |
Whenever I get the next batch of steel targets made. So at this rate, maybe once a quarter.
Weekly three months out of year. Once or twice a month in winter.
Usually once a week when I'm home but not when college gets rolling again
With Suppressors and a Ranch... Several times a week. But only get good range time in a few times a month.
