View Quote Fun bit on that...I upfit police vehicles for the place I work at. All our patrol cars had that wired in for putting in park and it killing the siren, well when the officers would do their vehicle checks at the beginning of shift and test the siren...it wouldn't work ( it was sitting in the yard in park). And I'd end up with several 'siren inop' work orders every week. |

That much adrenalin makes fine motor skills like a mag change go to shit.
Officer won the fight. Motherfucker faked a surrender so he could figure out wher the cop was. Great shoot in my book. He won the fight, everything else is fluff. |

And nor should he have. If he has the drop on the guy (the guy was already down and hit multiple times by that point) why the fuck would he give up his battlefield to change a mag? He fumbled the mag change yes, but he maintained visual and didn't have to re-fight for ground he had already taken. That all said, the officer needs more training in regards to responding to a threat. View Quote Huh?? He was exposed with an empty weapon. You don't stand there with an empty weapon when you have some cover on either side. You also don't advance alone, when he goes down. With that aside, he still did OK. Radio traffic was lacking. |

Why are people picking on him so hard for being overweight? Okay he's fat. But he's on the job. He got in a shoot-out. An actual shoot-out. And he won. There are a lot of mall ninjas out there who talk a big talk but will never put themselves in that situation. He did. He did his job, he didn't run, he didn't cower. He bladed at 45 and dropped a seriously bad guy. Regardless of his weight issues, respect. Respect and thanks for doing what most of us can't or won't do.

Just curious, why would anyone possibly think there SHOULDN'T be PT standards for cops? They aren't worth a damn "serving and protecting" if they are obese. The military doesn't put up with that shit in combat arms, why do lots of police forces let it go?
