This would be a fun project to do with the kids over Christmas break.

I remember doing this 50 years ago. It's cheap, slightly dangerous fun.

We used to make those in high school with cigarette pack foil. Didn't need any templates or skewers.

Grant Thompson has a TON of stuff on his Youtube channel that is worth trying.

Cool.

We made tennis ball cannons with tin cans, tape, tennis balls and lighter fluid.   They were damned impressive, and damned dangerous.

Same here, but in the mid-'80s.  Not as elaborate and didn't always work as nicely but cheap fun.

Damn that was complex!

Cigarette pack foil and a book of matches is all ya need. Although you won't get the range he has.

I remember my dad showing me how to make these over 20 years ago.  Fun from back when danger wasn't so much of an issue.

I also remember having to make sure to use the lightest weight aluminum foil that could be found.

Those are awesome! Way better than just wrapping some foil around a match and lighting it off.  That is still fun but they don't go very far
