I know they are expensive, but you should have skipped the bow and bought a couple filters for that fridge.

Get a good release and some cheap arrows and practice....a lot. Get a good target and go to town for the next year and you should have years of venison. |

did you intend for the pattern on the limbs to match your backsplash?

Much nicer than my first bow. Love me some Hoyt. My current bow is a 2012 Hoyt Vector 32".

My 2014 factor turbo is getting delivered tomorrow. Pretty pumped about it.
Got it for a steal. |

The salesman was an idiot if he said that it was "decent". The Hoyt carbon line is the absolute best on the market in my opinion. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q262/Texan6326/2014-11/C0F18159-B898-419F-84D0-88CE8937509C_zpsnybauhmc.jpg There were very few changes from the 14-15 lineup. very nice. I'd like to get a Carbon Spyder 34 but I just can't get myself to spend that much on a new bow. I'll probably just shoot my bow a little while longer and try to pick up a slightly used bow off Archery Talk for half the price of new. That's what I did with the CRX 34 I currently have.

Archery is my true passion. You did good son. Now practice practice practice

They sure look different than when I was a kid. My dad won the CT state championship back in the 60's with a recurve.

Im a Mathews guy so I'll keep my mouth shut. Point is if it fits you correctly, shoots accurately, with repeatability and you are confident with it MY opinion doesnt mean anything. When you get to this level of bow I think the bow chooses you. I shot a Mathews, Bowtech and a Hoyt at the archery shop and quite literally my Z7x chose me....

|
Nice bow, Now all you need is sights, a quiver, and a whole bunch of arrows and field points. Trust me you will break arrows and at around $10 a piece it gets pricy so learn to hit your target fast.

wowsers! thats a hell of a first bow,I use a old stickbow nowadays.

I don't know shit about bows. More pics of your tattoo. I'm getting something between quarter sleeves and half sleeves next year.

Awesome bow. I shoot a Hoyt rampage xt. It's my favorite bow of all of mine

Hey big spender! Nice bow, but I don't prefer Hoyt especially.

Hoyts are excellent bows. I think they are probably the best bows out there. The Mathews guys will surely chime in, but until this year, Mathews had a serious short problem. They kept going shorter and shorter ATA, so unless you wanted one of their super ugly target bows, you were stuck with a 30" ATA bow at best. I have a Spyder Turbo, love it. I also have a PSE Supra Max, which is strictly for target, and I use the Hoyt for 3D.
I would love to get one of Hoyt's Podium X Elites next. The point being, you cannot go wrong with a Hoyt. |
|
so I take that as they are still at the same level. haven't bought a bow in about 6 years, but I always went Matthews in the past. |
|
I actually shot a Mathews before I tried the Hoyt, I will say the Mathews was an awesome bow and I think anyone would be proud to own one of their bows, same with the Bowtechs, I just shot the Hoyt 34 with my 31.2" draw length better and I was blown away by the nearly weightless feel of the carbon system! I will be getting the bow set up over the next week so if you guys can recommend the best sight, rest, quiver, etc, etc it would be appreciated by a newbie

nice bow op,
I cheaped out on a bow and scored one of the $190 bows from amazon and looking to outfit it as well. One of my friends is a die hard archery hunter who buys a new Mathews every year or every other year. He recommends the HHA single pin sights and the ripcord drop away rests. I know my cousin has had his bow for ~5 years and has a ripcord rest on it and hasn't had any problems with it. |

View Quote Funny story actually, I started off ordering one of those $190 amazon bows a week ago as well, the only reason I have the Hoyt is because the amazon bow was mistakenly a left hander even though it was advertised as a right hand, I was so excited about getting into archery and have been waiting to do so for about 6 years that I returned it to Amazon and decided to get something a little better last night , a little Christmas present for myself. |
