They have to do something. The cars.....minimal impact on society whether they get through or not.
The illegals.....huge impact on society if they get through. Which is more important for the nation? Then do the opposite. That's .gov for you. |

I'd be interested to know what parameters they are failing on if so. One theory I have heard is that there is a lot of pressure to curtail imports over in the US by unions wanting to corner the market. Not sure if that rumour holds any water but it was mentioned in discussion a few weeks ago in the pub. |

The car manufacturers themselves lobby hard for the CBP do this, they don't like unauthorized imports cutting into their market share! Land Rover is not happy with the influx Defender imports, particularly with the new generation getting retting to be released in the US.

Not all CBP officers deal with immigration issues.
The agency deals with a lot more things that you basicly have no idea about. If it crosses the border CBP deals with it. The article talks about one issue, and you whine about illegals. By the way, if the illegal aliens are already here, ICE deals with them, not CBP. |
