I don't understand that- the putting up of pictures of government figures like that. I know it's huge in the black community.

I do however know several older Canadians and Brits that still put pictures of the Queen up, and U.S. Catholics that have a framed Pope up, so I guess it's not a racial cultural thing.

I have several who feel Obama is the Greatest thing in the world.  I don't really get in political debates online. I'd rather only have funny, comical, non-tense conversations. But I had to delete two friends off of my facebook. I could tolerate their support for the guy. But I posted something about 9/11 and the CIA interrogation tactics.both of them made comments saying that America had it coming because of Bush and that it was just one attack that America should have ignored.
To me they are are terrorist sympathizers. I don't care about people's political beliefs. But for obvious reasons I'd rather  not be associated with people who sympathize with Islamic/nazi terrorists.

The only obama supporters I know of are the folks that have coexist stickers on their prius. The Obama stickers are close to the "I'm ready for hillary" nonsense, directly adjacent to the "city" word that is surrounded by a white oval. If you look for the "26.2" or "13.1" marathon stickers, you can usually see a sticker representation of how many family members they have, their genders, how many species of pets they own. They are very fond of bike or canoe racks on their vehicle. If they park at REI, they will have both.

The best way to spot these types of people is to look in the passing lane on the interstate. They will be cruising along at 15 under the speed limit, swerving from line to line, while on their cell phone. But that's ok, beacuse everyone should coexist.

My parents both still think he is the best President of their lifetime although my dad will no longer talk about it, but as soon as I start in about how fucked up everything is because of Obama my mother immediately jumps to his defense. I don't visit my parents much anymore and this is one of the reasons

I also have a liberal friend who lives in MA that talks about how great he is on FB. I enjoy antagonizing him about it from time to time last week he posted some BS about how great our economy is now because of Obama vs 2008. I posted some info show how Obama has nearly doubled the national debt and then allowed the butthurt flow as all his FB friends liked my comments.

No.  My cousin and aunt might, but I don't talk to them much.

I think last time we got talking about politics I said something about him being a power hungry treasonous piece of shit, the worst president in decades that needs to fuck off and die in a fire.  The conversation quickly changed topics.

That's the difference between DC and the real world. DC isn't actually part of the world; it is it's own little bubble that exists in a fantasy realm. We have a made up, fake economy here and made up "Freedom" (we pay taxes and are Americans, but we don't have a Congressional vote- just look at how Congress is trying to block our popularly elected MJ laws as of late).

The "we president now" attitude still thrives in the local mentality. That's not to say I don't meet a lot of educated black dudes here who know what the fuck is actually going on- I know plenty... But all the guys on the corners selling single cigarettes for a buck a piece to finance their next tall boy of Keystone Ice just spew the same uninformed rhetoric about how Obama is the best president ever (which runs contrary to both facts and national public opinion). Scary as it may be, those same guys are American voters.

All of the standard bleeding-heart rabid liberals are just as bad, if not worse. For one of the most highly-educated city's in the country, there sure are some stupid people here. I had to give up on dating in DC, which is sad because there are some very attractive women to be found.. My first couple of dates upon moving here included some of the most liberally-indoctrinated women I've ever met! If even half of their political theories were to be adopted then our country would most surely fold within a decade. They were hot until their mouth started moving. I've been so horrified by the general local mentality that I now just stick with dating chicks from my previous state of Florida; at least they're only regular-crazy...

46 more days until I move to VA. Countin' 'em down..

I'm sorry! My grandmother was the same way. I started to copy her on current goings on at the Federal Government level and she eventually had to admit that his policies are "less than effective". She was in a teacher's union for most of her life, as well as a bad manager of money- I'm going to blame it on that..

If there's one good thing about living in DC, and that's a big IF, it's that you literally can't help but hear news and gossip about everything going on with every part of the federal gov't...

Nothing gets by me!
