Russia turning off gas to Europe is a cunt hair away from a declaration of war, and wouldn't make sense in this context.
If Russia was marching on Kiev and needed to keep Europe docile or something like that, for sure. But now that Ukraine is quiet and the price of oil dropped so much, it wouldn't make sense to just cut the flow of one of their sources of hard cash on a whim. |

I'm kind of mesmerized by how much credit people give the concept of Putin taking the world by the balls. He's backed into a fucking corner right now, yet he is somehow going to corner the oil market by seizing/damaging Saudi fields and the world will just sit back, take it, and continue buying his oil to fix his crisis. This has gone far beyond mental gymnastics. |

I'm not a driller. I did upstream processing for transport. I believe it is fairly intensive requiring pressure top side to get the flow. The fracked reservoirs aren't these gushers coming 3k psi on tap. It would take time and money. If it didn't, well, they wouldn't stop producing at 50 dollars a barrel. the point is, the fracing wells will ensure the price of oil stabalizes right around their cost of production, which will continue to go down. |
